MOSQUE BUILT ‘WITHOUT PERMIT’ 700 YEARS AGO SLATED FOR DEMOLITION
February 5, 2008 at 8:54 am (Palestine)
Talk about ‘grasping at straws’ and ’sinking lower than low’…. the champion of such actions is at it again…. Israeli authorities just ordered the demolition of a mosque that was built near Jerusalem without a permit.
This alleged CRIME was committed 700 YEARS AGO!!!
Just another instance of collective punishment and ethnic cleansing…. How can you ethnic cleanse an entire nation without cleansing their history as well??
The following report from the Ma’an News Agency deals with this very sick situation….
Mufti condemns Israeli decision to demolish historic mosque near Jerusalem
![]() |
|
Sheikh Muhammad Hussein,
the Mufti of Jerusalem [Ma'anImages] |
Jerusalem – Ma’an
– The Grand Mufti of Jerusalem, Sheikh Muhammad Hussein has condemned a decision by Israeli authorities to demolish the Al-Omari mosque in the village of Umm Tuba near Jerusalem under the pretext that the building had been built without a license on Sunday.Sheikh Hussein told Ma’an that the mosque was built more than 700 years go, and it was last restored in 1963. It is the only mosque in Umm Tuba.
The Mufti claimed that Israeli authorities have been attempting to wipe out historic Islamic sites in Palestine which is violation of all religious values and international treaties.
He warned of the repercussions and called on the United Nations Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) which is charged with protecting human cultural heritage around the world, and other international organizations to prevent the demolition of the mosque.

May I see the building permit for the Wailing Wall. (Micheal Rivero)
No permit - then knock down the Wailing Wall.

This is a bestial act of cultural depravity and insanity.
It’s over, Israel is through, I feel sorry for the Jews but they have disgraced themselves a plus jamais.

It’s a shame that things like this can happen. This is a historical monument to the locals.
Israel’s days are marked!

These wicked Israelis in office who are carrying out these atrocities — and the inhumane soldiers who seem to glory in starving and killing other innocent human beings — have all seem to forgotten the dreaded affair of theirs called the Holocaust.
As people quite proud of their Hebrew heritage and their ‘chosen’ status by GOD, they sure are behaving like a bunch of satan’s children. I hope they remember when they go to the Wailing Wall and say their prayers that GOD probably isn’t listening to them, as HE does not take pleasure in wickedness nor those who oppress others. Maybe they’ll wake up one day and remember that YHWH doesn’t sleep. HE will avenge the poor and oppressed (including the ‘innocent’ citizens constantly being lied to by their leaders)– those within Israel and those without.

I agree this is a horrible thing Israel is doing, but don’t drag the US into this one. The US does enough wrong things with out adding things they didn’t do to the list.

I am 100% behind the Israelis, but when they do this, it’s just makes you wonder who’s worse, the Palestinians or the Israelites.

Ernest (and others), don’t say “don’t drag the US into this one.” Unlike the Americans, everybody in the whole world knows, that the Israeli commit these crimes because America approves it and supports them. Nobody needs to drag US into this problem, US is in the very centre of it. The hysterical fear of terrorism is a natural result of someone who is committing evil. Fairness and justice would achieve much more then the bombs and DHS.

Yes, the Israelis are the most evil people in the world!
They blew up those historic Buddhist statues in Afghanistan for not being in line with the Torah.
They tore down that aboriginal church, Hindu temples and Chinese temples in Malaysia on legalities.
They attacked and destroyed Constantinople and renamed it Istanbul and converted its churched to mosqu… I mean, Jewish Zionist synangogues.
They built the True Jewish Temple of God on the site where the Al Aqsa mosque and Dome of the Rock once stood, and threaten to riot and wage war if the Muslims dare to even come near their single most important religious site. (Wait, I might be getting my facts a bit mixed up…
But the Israelis are still the most religiously intolerant demolishers in the world!
Did they use the bulldozer that’s as big as Godzilla to do it?

What can be done to publicize this atrocity? Have jewish groups within the US given their opinion? What about jews within Isreal? Aren’t they out-raged?

For God’s sake, my ancestors looted and burned the White House, but even I don’t think the Americans are behind this. You’ll never make much progress when you keep taking your eyes off the perpetrator and watching the spectators. Let Israel take the blame for this, as Israel is the guilty party.

@#11:
Assuming you are not a troll, and of moderate intelligence (although I doubt that, I just read your blog), then let me ask you this: does two wrongs make a right? I’m a Muslim myself, and I don’t know if the destruction of the Buddhist statues in Afghanistan is warranted, but even if it does not, what does that got to do with a Palestinian mosque?
And good job on dredging up Constantinople, wanna go back a few more centuries and enlighten us on more Muslim atrocities?
(yes, that’s a rhetorical, sarcastic question)

It is unreasonable to demolish any house of worship.
The wrongly accused or victimized will pay in their lifetimes, although those who are wrong will pay for an eternity.

If the building is structurially sound and not causing a threat to those inside it, leave it up. The lack of a building permit for something that old is not sufficient reason to demolish a building. Heck, any building that old should get some sort of historical landmark designation and become a bit of tourist attraction.

[...] There’s a mosque in Umm Tuba, which is near Jerusalem, that was apparently built on a Sunday 700 years ago. Since you need a license to build things on Sundays and the mosque in question is alleged to not have had such a permit 700 years ago, so Israeli authorities have decided to demolish it. Another thing disturbing about this story is the absolute blackout imposed upon this story by the Western media organs. You can be sure that if the Palestinians had proposed to take down the Wailing Wall because it didn’t have a “building permit”, the Jews would be broadcasting it all over the media worldwide. The ADL’s Abe Foxman would be playing the Holocaust card from the bottom of the deck, as he always does whenever he perceives any slight to Jews.
Israeli security is absolutely inseparable from Palestinian liberty. One cannot exist without the other.
