PEACE WILL COME FROM THE PEOPLE ~~ NOT FROM REUTERS’ DREAMS

(Ben Heine © Cartoons)
Reuters’ reported that a peace deal is possible in 2008 if sides honor commitments…..

What sides???
What commitments????

Is Reuters dreaming? Do they really believe Mahmoud Abbas’ top negotiator speaks with any authority or represents anyone other that Abbas himself? Do they really believe that a peace deal is possible between Israel and Israel…. as there was not one representative of the Palestinian people involved in the ‘peace talks, either in Jerusalem or at Annapolis.

Yes, there will be peace one day, it will come about through negotiations between Israel and the representatives that were elected to speak for the Palestinians, but in the meantime the groundwork is being laid by the people themselves, through cultural interchange and just being people among people….

Here is ONE example of activities involving young people on both sides of the wall….

Here is a group of well know Israeli and Palestinian performers singing out for Peace…
Things are happening and there will be Peace… It’s what the people want!

The Reuters ‘dream article’ is below…

PA negotiator: Peace deal possible in 2008 if sides honor commitments
By Reuters

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas’ top negotiator Ahmed Qureia told a U.S. envoy on Saturday that a peace deal with Israel would only be possible in 2008 if commitments by both sides were met.

Qureia told visiting Assistant U.S. Secretary of State David Welch that Israel has not met its obligations under the long-stalled “road map” peace plan, such as halting all settlement activity and uprooting unauthorized outposts in the West Bank.

“We talked about the possibility of achieving peace this year and an agreement with Israel this year. We said yes it is possible but with good will from both sides,” Qureia said. He added the peace process would require continuous support from the Quartet of Middle East negotiators - the United States, the European Union, the United Nations and Russia - and the international community.

During a visit to Israel and the West Bank last month, U.S. President George W. Bush set as a goal reaching an agreement on Palestinian statehood before he leaves office next January.

However, Prime Minister Ehud Olmert has already made clear he won’t implement any statehood agreement until Abbas reins in militants in the West Bank and the Hamas-controlled Gaza Strip.

Palestinian Prime Minister Salam Fayyad, who heads Abbas’ Western-backed government in the West Bank, told reporters Thursday that he did not believe a “final resolution” to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict would be completed in 2008.

Reuters is very zionist Jewish owned and controlled. Most of the staff are Jewish. Sad part is that most other news media pay Reuters for news.

Peace is possible if and when Israel will deal honestly with Palestinians. Israel maybe ought to stop killing Palestinians and walling them into barbaric Gulag like concentration camps for starters. Yeah, just a modicum of humanity is all any people might expect.

Peace will only be possible when and if the US recognizes, I mean truly recognizes Palestine’s existence is as valuable as Israels.

From what I understand, and it is rather easy that I come to this conclusion, both the Israeli and Palestinian peoples want peace.
