Dunkin’ Donuts’ spokeswoman Rachael Ray got herself in trouble with certain segments of the blogging community for wearing what appears to be a keffiyeh in an ad for iced coffee. With the help of resident Atlantic design genius Jason Treat, I propose the following costume change to help Ray avoid any future Middle East-related wardrobe malfunctions:

Of course, this will lead to a boycott of Dunkin’ Donuts across large sections of the Muslim world, but, on the other hand, Jews eat a lot of doughnuts.

… barf …
I am so glad that I haven’t purchased anything from DD in years – and don’t plan on starting as a result of their idiotic advertisement campaigns.
This is what happens when businesses try to be all things to all people instead of just doing what they are supposed to do; this is a donut shop for crying out loud, make your freakin’ donuts and sell the swill you contend to be coffee and let the shawls take care of themselves.
If you are going to worry about what every reactionary Republican nut-case is going to say about your company, you should make sure that you don’t provide insurance for same-sex partners (though the 14th amendment really should cover this under the equal protection clause), and, for that matter, you don’t even employ anyone who deviates from the “straight and narrow” as defined by the “moral majority” – the amoral minority to others – who claim to control the moral compass of the Republican agenda. They do not, nor do they speak for the real America (which, alas, is often too apathetic to realize that their country is being taken over by the special interest groups, not the people who vote in elections.
Vote with your money: make your own coffee at home, and eat more fruit. Let these donut shops go under like they deserve.

She looks better in the the keffiyeh. This entire thing is so stupid. Is BK going to change the crown because it looks too ROYAL? Didn’t we revolt against England because of the tyranny?

Is there any reason why she cant just wear a red, white and blue scarf? oh yeah, its french, and dutch, and american – too confusing.
Hey, then how about she wear just red and white – only one country has those colors – Canada.

Doughnuts look like the letter ‘O,’ which is the first letter in the names ‘Obama’ and ‘Osama.’ The pro-terrorist food conspiracy runs deep, my friends!

These people like the Rachel Rays are truly insane and insensitive and not only disgust me, they make me rally more people to open public Grand Jury investigations.
This is an absolute mockery, period, a mockery that never should have been.

A method to their madness – there was a comment made on Fox News a couple of weeks ago about how (Israeli) Starbucks was hurting and people preferred to drink Dunkin’ Doughnuts coffee because it was considered an AMERICAN company. Then, immediately this ad comes out putting Islamo- and Dunkin’ Doughnuts together. Was Dunkin’ Doughnuts sabotaged by some friends of Israel in the ad world who planned the whole thing?

When a loser company like DD is so desperate they will do anything for notice is there really any need to help them endlessly repeat there name over and over?
The Big business model is DOOMED.
And Dunkin Donuts just may see how fast there fortunes can turn on them.
Us normal folks are starting to get a tad bitchy and you business owners are going to be the FIRST to feel the hurt of backlash.

Yes, the whole thing it totally stupid – but it is doing what it is designed to do – divide us all along imaginary lines.
BTW – Canada is NOT the only country with a ‘red and white’ flag. Japan, Austria and a few others do to… gee Canada and Austria and Japan…
Perhaps we should boycott them as well??

I can’t imagine what our world has gone to…a scarf to moan about. Maybe the muslims should boycott DD….seems like the muslims are not humans to be respected, etc…so why support DD and the rest anyways? Leave them alone, make your D at home (eyes rolling). There are not many voices over the millions of hungry people, the world food crisis, etc…but many for a simple scarf….sigh…
