Any truly “all the news without fear or favour” MSM would be calling for the arrest and trial of Tony Blair on war crimes charges. But we all know this isn’t going to happen. And then there’s the little matter of treason. Taking your country to war on the basis of lies and deceit is treason in my book. But UK mainstream media is clearly in bed with the establishment: they must so despise their readers and viewers. Finally, something in common. The Internet, which allows Mr. Average to post opinion hostile to Authority, must be a thorn in their side; you have to assume they are planning ways to shut it down. Must be psyching themselves up, still not quite sure that restricting access won’t be the final straw. But with the MSM media on hand to sell the lie to the increasingly gullible, sedated mug-punters out there, no worries. After all, it’s so much easier to be told what your opinion should be than making the effort to think for yourself. Fortunately for authority, only a diminishing segment of a dumbed down, intellectually bone lazy population is still willing to engage in critical thought, so hardly an urgent issue. Besides it’s all about critical mass; everyone thinking and saying the same thing at the same time. That’s why national television is the far greater threat. Now if only there were alternative media TV, beamed from offshore.
Well done, but this would likely go in the trash can,the way of all other letters highlighting the REAL criminals in the axis of evil countries that are the UK, Israehell and the US. The powerful are always “covering their asses”, like Bush and his bloodthirsty, murdering bunch of war criminals. Paper tigers like the I.C.C., the UN et al, are all set up and designed to keep the insane sociopaths of these three evil entities safe from recriminations. The time has long passsed when the illusion of democracy could be used to coerce the population. Time to get up off your knees folks and FIGHT BACK.
[...] We have the legal precedents. We have the documented crimes. We know what domestic and international laws explicitly say about all of it. We have the actions and the public statements of those involved in the build-up to, and perpetuation of, these illicit ventures — from the Pentagon to Pennsylvania Avenue to the think tanks to the corporate news media. Do we have the prosecutors with the guts to do what is right? [...]
think it can be done, but they need to be prosecuted in a home country court taken by a private individual or small group, before the international court acts, because those courts are led by the same (home governments). How is the progress of the actions that were being launched in America? A supportive public campaign behind them would help.
I fancy doing it myself, and being the brains behind it, hiring and firing lawyers as needs be, they being my councel, to build a team. I think a little money to kick off would be useful though. like £5 000 to build the team and the campaign, maybe a bit more to publicise/fuel it in the first stage. The aim would be to have a good in-depth trial. Legal or illegal?
If British law permits a prime minister to invade a country without declaring war, or the support of the parliament, then i think the case could be taken to European and international courts of human justice. Then we can see if they wish uphold the principle of anyone is allowed to invade anybody on any pretexts disguised as fear. And, whether invasion may be executed by bombing into submission without regard to the consequences, as long as it caries the slogan ‘hearts and minds’, (which should be duly handed over by the victim).
