I love the cartoon… it really shows the hypocrisy of a lot of politicians when it comes to issues such as this and the futility of hoping for and serious, meaningful change from someone like Obama.
I have to tell you, there may be more to that wall comment than meets the eye … or ear. Given the proximity to Obama’s visit to Israel (one day) and his speech in Berlin it seems hard to imagine that the senator was not including the people that he had just seen living behind the new incarnation of the “wall” while in the city of the “old” wall. When I listened to that speech, and yes – I listened, very carefully – that is what I heard. In fact, when he made that comment about the “walls” my first reaction was to say, to my room-mate was that, “oh my – the Zion-Fascists are going to be VERY unhappy with this”.
Take his words in the context of WHEN they were spoken – the man is a political creature and NOT a fool – there is no way he would have said something so inflammatory while a guest of the Fifth Reich – that would have been rude. Once freed of the constraints of speaking from Israel Obama did what many have done – he alluded to the situation that had been, AFTER the fact – the world knew where he had been and should have easily made the connections to the “walls” in Israel. In fact, I am certain that the young people gathered together to hear Barack Obama deliver his speech in Berlin had no difficulty with the imagery given the predilection Germans have had (well, at least once) in the past for succumbing to persuasive speakers.
Seriously – having followed the news coverage of the Senator’s trip through the Middle East the speech in Berlin had a particular resonance when he made those comments regarding walls not being able to stand. I am not ashamed to say that I was downright excited by the utterance – I thought it was an incredibly brave thing to say, especially in light of the fact that the citizenry of the United States tends to be blind on matters regarding foreign policy (unless it is to cut the funding thereof in order to fund something less than earth-shattering at home [like a monument to Grover - not Grover Cleveland, Grover, or a new on ramp for the "bridge to nowhere" in Alaska ... Ok, that one was canceled - the bridge, not the on ramp ...]).
Foreign policy, as evidenced by the experience of George W. Bush, both before his first UN-elected election in 2000 and then his re-[rigged]election in 2004, demonstrate that the citizens of the U.S. could care less (until 2007) what qualifications their president had when it came to dealing with international issues. Putting a man who has the grace of a drunken cowboy in the seat of the Chief Executive makes the nation look like an amalgamation of hicks rather than well considered statesmen … but I digress.
Before lambasting Obama for a comment on one day that you believe should have been said the day before consider that the comment still can relate – its relevance transcends the time and distance separating Berlin and Israel/Palestine. Besides, in this day there is a huge difference in making a speech in one place compared to when JFK spoke in Berlin: with the advent of YouTube and the Internet it is impossible for something as important as these events to not garner an international audience, even if they are not televised as was this speech. Barack Obama made his comments knowing full well that every word he spoke would be heard equally well in Beirut and Gaza, from Jerusalem to Bethlehem, from Hebron to the West Bank. He knew that the people that needed to hear what he had to say would hear, but the hearts of those who have the power to make changes – the people he had met with – had been hardened by hatred and no words, regardless of how poetic they were, could influence them to cast off the vitriolic hatred with which they have become so accustomed to living.

Looks like the Clinton admin set up 9/11.
The only one that I will vote for is Dr. Ron Paul. He is the only one that says it like it is, as far as he can.
It’s time to take this country back, and “voting” with Diebolt computers is not going to get it.

Israel’s apartheid wall is far more evil and causes more suffering than the Berlin wall. The Zionist apartheid wall, for instance, cuts off Palestinian farmers from water sources, etc.
The Palestinian have always had the right to fight back against the Zionist hordes who stole their land and oppressed the Palestinians.
why does Ron Paul and his logical non-interventionist policies NOT get greater support – is the Fourth estate not interested in other views?? Hard to believe the traction we see on the net has NO equivalent in the public press.
LOKIS, the so-called public press is owned by the same entrenched aristocracy that owns all the politicians and majors CEOs in this country. You will find members of the global socialist front the Council on Foreign Relations staffing the editorial boards of Time, Newsweek, CNN, ABC, NBC, CBS, Fox, the New York Times and most other major mainstream media. In fact, the halls of power in this country are INFESTED with those global socialists, who all have the same world-domiantion mindset. Both Obama and McCain are CFR members, and both want to increase government spying on citizens and bomb Iran. Any questions?
The cartoon proves yet again, that you have to be in Israel’s – and by
extension, AIPAC’s – back pocket to get elected in the U.S. The same
Zionist routine is taking place in Canada. You either support Israeli expansion
or you don’t get elected – it’s that simple.
Israeli expansion is equivilent to Israeli expansion. Israel is the Rothechild’s little “country”, taken by force and fraud, and expanded to get US Aid, as if the Federal Reserve ownership was not enough.
Until we call these men by name, and issue arrest warrants, we are going to have to pay them in blood and taxes. They even own the Mafia, at this point, which is really sad.
However, if Rome were to make a real statement, all this would end.
Rome must be part of this whole situation.
We are being hosed.
why bow to israel? what was obama doing there anyway,he puts israel before america pledges loyalty to it,and says nothing about the fact it’s not jewish land and they should’nt even be there.this bs has to stop.
