Now, more than ever, sanctions must be brought against Israel in response to the crimes committed against the people of Palestine.

I think you’ll agree that sanctions are blunt instruments and punish the people of a given country more than the government that invite the sanctions in the first place.
Anyhow. The defense that other countries are worse is not really a valid response to valid criticism. If I were to say Saudi Arabia is bad on human rights one could hardly accept the defense that Iran is worse.
I guess the moral in this message is this: Stop deflecting the criticism and answer the charges!

The problem with any boycott is what Israel does have will be rationed in order to Israeli Jews, Israeli non-Jews, non-Israelis. Needless to say the non-Israelis will get next to nothing at all. That includes all the West Bank, Gaza, East Jerusalem and the Golan Heights.
To say it simply, the Palestinians are hostages to any boycott.

As for boycotting Palestinians, the last time I looked into the Hague treaty on Land Warfare (Hague V) and the Geneva Conventions, resistance to occupation is lawful. Both Israel’s AG and Supreme Court have declared the West Bank, East Jerusalem, Gaza and the Golan Heights are under belligerent occupation as defined in the above.
The occupied have the right to attack any member of the Israeli military, on or off duty, active or reserve, at any time and at any place. Given Israel have universal military service for Jews it is bad luck if any group of five or more does not have at least one member of the military in it. That makes the attack unquestionably lawful and the rest are collateral damage.
Additionally, the Palestinians have the right to attack any military asset. In Israel the buses are used to move troops and are thus a military asset whether or not there are passengers on them at the time of the attack.
Israel does not administer the occupied territories to the benefit of the occupied people thus making its occupation prima facia criminal. Thus not only is the resistance legal but also killing any member of the resistance is plain and simple murder.

S.A. doesnt dominate our foreign policy (or we’d have turned on Israel long ago). If I criticize S.A. no one sues me and I do not live in fear.
