Having burned out the pejorative phrase “anti-Semite” though overuse and endless misapplication, Israel’s defenders of late have been resorting to their last and most powerful rhetorical weapon of mass distraction, “Holocaust Denier”, to silence critics or at the very least to deprive them of an objective audience ready to give the critic a fair hearing.
“Holocaust Denier” is being hurled hither and yon, and the reality is that hardly anybody being labeled a “holocaust denier” denies anything. They just want to ask a few specific questions about specific historical events, or simply defend the right of all people in this post “Saddam has nookular bombs” era to re-examine everything we have ever been taught by the state-operated schools and media. Nobody is denying that war crimes took place. But that there have been hoaxes and false claims made in the aftermath of WW2 is beyond question.
However, ’sauce for the goose’ etc. and I have decided that from here on out, I will identify all defenders of Israel’s actions in Palestine and all those who are fighting to block the bringing of war crimes charges against Israel for Operation CAST LEAD as “Goldstone Deniers”.
I feel that this is perfectly appropriate because the “Holocaust Denier” label is used to claim that the denier is trying to conceal NAZI Germany’s atrocities. Therefore, those who are trying to conceal Israel’s atrocities should be accorded the same treatment. After all, they are indeed trying to deny the atrocities which took place inside Palestine.
So, that is it. They are all “Goldstone Deniers” from here on out!

The crimes against Jews during the Nazi era should be a reminder to all of us that War is evil. These crimes were the inevitable result of militarism.
But the modern military-industrial complex would be threatened by a such a straightforward understanding of the holocaust, so they have to exaggerate it to the point that it becomes a cartoonish monstrosity, carried out by robotic caricatures who could only be stopped by war.
The lesson of World War 2 should have been a clear realization of the futility of war. Instead the Holocaust has become the key propaganda device for expanding the military industrial complex.
No doubt innocent Jews suffered. War is suffering and war could have been easily avoided. War did not stop the holocaust, unnecessary war caused the holocaust. If America had lost the war, the Japanese would have emerged from the internment camps looking every bit as downtrodden as the Jews. There is nothing unique or unnatural about the holocaust except that war itself is unnatural.

I’ve been called many things by many people – I’ve even been called an anti-Semite (good trick for a Jew, but, what can I say), but in all the years that I have faced people who have collective IQs as the number of eyebrows on their heads, none have had the temerity to call me a holocaust denier – and it would be the type of thing that one would use, just to be hurtful – and yet, none have stooped to that level. Why? The reason, I believe, is quite simple: to be labeled a denier of something one must first be on record as … oh, it is too easy, isn’t it? – as, well, you have to have DENIED it – thus … the Holocaust Denier.
To say, therefore, that ” … the reality is that hardly anybody being labeled a “holocaust denier” denies anything” demonstrates that the writer has not fully considered what those who deny are really doing when they attempt to erase history in favour of their own twisted versions. It is not that one denial is more serious than another – the denial of what Israel has done to the Palestinians is truly horrific and, without a doubt, a crime against humanity – but that does not diminish the fact that denial of facts is an attempt to kill history; we must not allow it to happen.
‘Never again’ begins with people who live as guardians of the truth, holding up the standard of what must not be forgotten whenever the opposing forces feel they can slip their own version of events in without anyone noticing. Don’t allow your own comments to become fodder for their canons.

The irony of all this is that many informed observers (Chomsky and Richard Falk come to mind) think the Goldstone report failed to go far enough and, in many ways, was biased toward Israel via inclusion of the tired “self defense” canard.

These children were beaten, sexually abused, and often, deliberately given diseases, like TB and smallpox.

I greatly respect your column…it is written factual and with no hatred or foul words….History shows that most major wars were fought over religion…to kill off the population when it was thought the world was over populated, or, as Israel is doing to the Palestinians, to gain land….
The only comeback Israel has to those who question the Holocaust is to smear or malign the questioner, never with answers to the questions put before them…
Much has already been discredited…Hitler never had more than 3 million Jews under his command..Many of the stories have been proven to be mostly fictional..What happened to the records that West Germany found in East Germany when the Berlin Wall was torn down, that listed 365,000 as killed? It was a small article that appeared shortly after the Wall came tumbling down?
Pulling the Holocaust out of World War II years later, ism in itself, a racist act, as it ignores all the other MILLIONS who had been killed…this alone, shows that they are the biggest offenders of their “Hate Crime Laws” which, ignoring National borders they enforce upon countries to accept a belief without allowing public questioning or debate as to its validity, thus establishing a government religion when most National Constitutions in the free wrold preclude the establishment of a government religion. Portraying Jews as the exculsive victims of the so-called Holocaust has the effect of deifying the Jewish people.
The Hate Crime Laws are meant to supercede a nation’s own laws; how can people feel secure in their own country, if their government doesn’t protect them from such an unjust law?

Weisman’s book: WHO IS ESAU-EDOM, page 63: “Ever since the Jews invented the libel charge of “anti-Semitism” in the 1880’s , the word was first printed in the Jewish Encyclopedia in 1901, Vol. 1, page 641) it has been built up with Jewish money, organizations, propaganda, and lies (such as the Holocaust-Holohoax), so that now the word is like snake venom which paralyzes one’s nervous system. Even the mention of the word “Jew” is shunned unless used in a most favorable and positive context.”
