But, but, but, we have the best health care system in the world. At least that’s what I keep hearing. Just ask my neighbor who lost his health insurance for himself and family when he got laid off. When his son cut his finger and needed stitches he went to the ER. They fixed the kid right up. Sent the father a bill for $975 which he can’t pay and now has a collection agency on his ass. Thank God we don’t have that nasty socialized medicine here! Yes sir, best heath care in the world plus we’re so fucking free the rest of the world hates us for it. Makes me prouder ‘n shit to be ‘merican.

LOL…ya think that’s bad. I went to the ER for tightness in my chest and tingling in my fingers. Told them I had 6 cups of coffee and had a real bad day on the stock market. They diagnosed me with heart problems and shipped me off to the hospital. I said…but, but, but…i have no insurance and ain’t got no job. Are ya sure? They said…yup! And we don’t want to get sued.
Well i never told them that i practiced toxicology for 18 years. After 1 day in the hospital and some stupid tests, they didn’t even bother to wait for the results. They said….go on get…you’re OK. By the way…you owe us $13,000.
That’s real funny…huh? And guess what. After I sought and received copies of my medical records, and reviewed the ER lab work data and EKG…I found out they were LYING. The tests were negative for heart damage and my EKG was just fine.
Well also come to find out that the ER and the hospital (two separate physical
entities) were own by the same company. Kinda like a conflict of interest…ya think?
So I wrote dem a letter saying I know what they know. I asked for a reduction in my bill like they gave insured people. They told me…Too Bad…you don’t qualify for discount. You’re unemployed and have no insurance.
So I told them fuck you…you won’t collect squat from me. And maybe I’ll liquidate every goddamn asset I have.
Ima hoping they take me to court. I got the smoking gun, and they still think they are dealing with a dummie. I gots the data…and it said my heart was fine before they admitted me. Lucy!!!….you gots some ‘plaining to do!!!

This guys cool… He’s got some great stuff on CD.
Check out his song, “There raising flags along main street.”
Do a search for paul hipp…
This song should be a banner tune for the Vets.
He did some songs for the movie, “War Inc.” too.
This movie was too close to the truth, so it didn’t get the wide release that it deserved. Blockbuster or Amazon should have it.

Ask any honest nurse-they will tell you, if you want to be healthy stay away from doctors. If you ever saw the brain damaged people they put back together so they can be warehoused in an institution forever-force fed and wearing diapers, you would know-doctors don’t care about people–only about how much money they can keep coming in–the american standard of profit making: ‘built in obsolescence’ is a time honored american medical tradition. Do what doctors tell you and they will keep you coming back for more-until your either dead or worse than dead-a zombie in a nursing home who has gone ‘stir crazy’-but they now call it ‘dementia’.

our health care is so good, we don’t see doctors anymore…..!!!
it is a choice feed our children or pay for health insurance, we need to go to work and all, so we have to have car insurance ( and pay an arm & lag ), tax’s are up and must be paid ( someone must live it up, and Israeli health care, housing & arms ), Gas & power takes the rest of our money.
and there you have it, teeth are rotting and our health are falling.

Number 37 is actually improvement. In 2002 US was on position 38. I know that since mentioned to my friend whos daughter is doctor. He remembered that since repeated my words year or later in rather cynical way. I really have NO CLUE why it took 7 or so years for statistic to appear in public.

Dogismyth, you really went to the wrong place. When I was uninsured, I was the one who got the discount — the insured were the ones paying retail. My discount was about 40 percent, btw. I always figured this was one reason premiums are so high; insurers want more cash flow, they are less sensitive to price than individuals so don’t mind being gouged.

Excuse me, Dogismyth, I have a question – and don’t take this as a defense of the U.S. health care system because it isn’t – I believe that system is corrupt beyond comprehension – but that’s another story. Why, pray tell, is it a conflict of interest for the ER and the Hospital to be two separate entities? One would thing, I would imagine, that the two – being dependent upon staff and patients going from one to the other – would be necessary for the survival of the other. Quite frankly, I find it difficult to imagine an ER as a separate entity FROM a hospital: such an entity would require the duplication of infrastructure (such as CT, MRI and PET scanners that cost hundreds of thousands of dollars) rather than sharing these incredibly expensive pieces of equipment – which also require specialized staff to operate and maintain them.
While it sounds like you were treated by amateurs – the obvious problem was anxiety exacerbated by too much caffeine (which would have been confirmed by an EKG and blood work showing negative Createnin [sp?] level), and which never should have required an admission to the hospital – but the argument that the hospital and the ER are – or should be – separate entities … stick to fighting the malpractice issues. Get your blood work (if they did a full blood panel the Cr level should be there – especially if they suspected a cardiac event) and, with the EKG, you can easily demonstrate that there was no clinical reason to admit you – and then you can wait until hell freezes over before you will find another doctor to stand by you so you can sue the hospital/ER.
But good luck … really.

dogismyth, after reading your comment, I can see how sneaky people in the health care system can be. That’s horrible. I hope you don’t pay a penny of the $13,000.
