On Monday, Feb. 15th, Cinema du Parc received an email insisting that CJPME’s Photo Exposition, Human Drama in Gaza, be immediately removed from the Cinema. The email was from a legal representative of Gestion Redbourne PDP Inc., the owners of the building housing Cinema du Parc. The Cinema has hosted dozens of expositions in the past three years, and this is the first time that such action has been taken. This move on the part of Redbourne seems entirely political, to muzzle the message of Human Drama in Gaza.

More Info
CJPME’s Human Drama in Gaza Photo Exposition features 44 photos, taken before, during and after last winter’s 22-day assault on Gaza by professional photographers from Israel, Palestine, and the West. Produced by CJPME, and funded through private donations, the Montreal stop at Cinema du Parc is the first in a series of cross-Canada shows.
The Montreal Exposition began on Friday, Jan. 15th and was originally scheduled to continue through through Sunday, February 28th. The Exposition is open from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on weekdays, and from 3:00 p.m. until 9:30 p.m. on weekends. All the photos and captions used in the Exposition can be found here, and a video trailer introducing the Exposition can be found here.
Cinema du Parc has been great partner in the hosting of the Exposition in Montreal, and is standing its ground in the face of Redbourne’s action.
Canadians for Justice and Peace in the Middle East just sent out this action alert. The video features some of the photos in the exhibit.

This is what I posted at the ‘protest’ site; I thought it would be nice to share as a comment as well. Just a note – at the end you may notice the signature reads ‘Reverend Peter Amsel’ – as has been stated in other comments, I am an ordained (non-denom) minister – but to my friends and family I am the CrazyComposer.

I am writing this after reading a disturbing report relating the actions of Gestion Radbourne PDP Inc. and their brazen attempt to shut down an exhibition of photos depicting the ‘Human Drama’ in Gaza. The news of the recent actions by Gestion Redbourne PDP Inc. against the exhibition of the CJPME’s ‘Human Drama in Gaza’ is, in essence, an endorsement of the actions perpetrated by the Israeli government against the people of Gaza who were trapped behind barricades and fences, unable to find shelter as bombs and phosphorus artillery shells rained down upon them from the Israeli Air Force and the Israeli Defence Forces. That Gestion Redbourne PDP Inc. would want to be associated with what has been outline throughout the pages of the Goldstone Report as a litany of crimes against an unarmed civilian population is mystifying: these are not allegations that come as offhanded remarks against the State of Israel, these are statements of fact that can be found within the pages of the Goldstone Report, as it was submitted to the United Nations General Assembly and Human Rights Commission on September 23, 2009.
This should not be taken as mere anti-Zionist ravings about ‘yet another’ act of aggression by Israel against unarmed civilians; the Goldstone Report was written by a committed Zionist who, after assessing the results of unprecedented bombing on a fenced-in civilian population that included the use of White Phosphorus munitions against unarmed civilians, could not turn away from the fact that war crimes had been committed against the people of Gaza – war crimes that left a mark on the land that cannot be believed without seeing. If the only opportunity one has to see these atrocities is through the photos on display in the CPME’s Gaza Photo Exposition, that may be enough to change the lives of people who will, in turn, change the world.
If you persist in your attempt to shut down this important exposition it could be seen as an active attempt on your part to protect those who perpetrated these crimes against the unarmed civilians of Gaza. Is that really the public image that Gestion Redbourne PDP Inc. wants to project for itself at this time? If it is I am quite certain that there are enough of us who support this exposition and what it represents to remind the community of your stance, whenever appropriate.
Thank you for your time and consideration,
Reverend Peter Amsel, SDG

Thank you for all your postings
It seems that almost every day I am e-mailing Canadian government as to one sided support for Israel
I am also- being of Irish descent and recalling the centuries of ill treatment of Irish by occupying power demanding to know if Irish passports were used for assassination in Dubai and if proven what will be done as to justice

This is so not right and unacceptable. Let’s send our protest to the government. However, I doubt they will listen to us.
