Definitely one of the greatest men of American letters of the 20th century, Kurt Vonnegut passed away earlier this year at the age of 85.

And the US news media all but ignored him….

Here are some of the simple truths he spoke
about whenever he was given a public forum…..

Impeachment of Bush/Cheney would set a terrible precedent for our country. Our Constitution provides that execution be the designated punishment for the many instances of High Treason committed by these men.
Letting them off with such a ‘slap on the wrist’ as impeachment would encourage other like minded gangsters in Government to follow in their footsteps!

Punishment for the war crimes of Bush/Cheney is a pipe dream. These scum will live out their lives in great comfort, surrounded by those they love. The senior Bush was up to his eyeballs in war crimes and mass murder and he has never been so much as indicted–barely even accused.

The inbred retard, W Bush and his ass-wiper, Cheney, will never be punished. So forget about such a thing.

he says humans are a disease and we should stop reproducing. what a typical double-thinking brainwashed new-ager. complaining about fascism while his views are tyrannical and Malthusian. sorry, can’t say i’ll miss him.

Having read nearly every novel and short story written by Vonnegut, I will miss him and his cynical outlook on the world. His generation is almost gone. My generation could never completely understand where he’s coming from, but I like to think that I understand more than most. I can say that he is not a “new-ager” and that I agree that human nature is not pretty. As for human reproduction, personally I have no desire to bring another human into this mess. As for this administration, they’re doing exactly what they want and we’re letting them…so we can quit complaining and rise up or we can go watch our t.v. until they come for us.

it’s not about you wanting to reproduce or not; it’s about the freedom to reproduce which the establishment and their culture-creators want to take away from us common folk. they have made this “mess” not us, and they promote selected authors to guide us along to THEIR predetermined opinions and conclusions about it. if you remove the parasitic elite from the equation suddenly humanity is BEAUTIFUL again. i don’t accept this “bame the victim” way of thinking at all.

You’re right- we shouldn’t blame the victim. Unfortunately the powerful elite doesn’t have to worry about sending their children off to war or into a classroom full of lies or to the projects to live. It just seems like evil is in charge and it’s corrupting humanity on a large scale. Humanity has strayed from everything that is natural and in return all of this technology has left us running in a rat race and feeling like we are not getting anywhere. Vonnegut shows that in almost all of his novels. (the whole “man vs. machine” and “government vs. man” and the “elite vs. the common people” themes). Society is swirling in a downward spiral and the problem is that I can’t think of a way to change it…to help it…to save it…any suggestions?
