THE ASSOCIATED PRESS ~~ NOT ONE OF MY ASSOCIATES FOR SURE

One would think that a news service such as the Associated Press would be a source to trust, a source to look to for the truth….one should think twice if they believe that.
The demise of AP’s traditional rival, United Press International, as a major American competitor in 1993 left the AP as the only nationally oriented news service based in the United States. Its other rival English-language news services, such as Reuters and the English language service of Agence France-Presse, are based outside the United States.

In other words, Associated Press has a monopoly on the news…. which in reality means we the readers can be told anything they want to say to us, be it true or false. The above in italics was taken from this description of AP.

Case in point is a report distributed yesterday by them regarding the ordeal that Mohammed Omer is going through. It is full of misinformation, lies and yet, has been copied to newspapers throughout the United States and the western world…. There are EIGHT pages of links to the article in question on Google… Eight pages worth of newspapers that pay the AP good money for their ‘information’…. which YOU pay for when you buy the newspapers in question…

This type of ‘reporting’ must not go undisputed. Every newspaper that it appears in should be flooded with letters to the editor demanding the truth in reporting… not half truths, and especially not lies. If this does not happen, nothing will change and the nation will remain in darkness.

My sister Blogger Robin wrote a piece last night which hits the nail on the head regarding this type of ‘reporting’… it’s a must read and can be found through this link….. Why the AP Story on Mohammed Omer is LACKING in Journalistic Integrity.

I also want to remind all of my readers that Mohammed will be the guest on What Really Happened Radio tomorrow… don’t miss it. It is your chance to hear the truth as it happened from the victim himself.

The format of the show allows for phone-ins and questions. Here is your chance to show Mohammed the appreciation you have for him as being the ‘Voice for the voiceless in Gaza’.

Details of the show follow…..

This is getting old already. Anyone who hasn’t figured out by now that the mainstream media only peddles lies and manipulation is an idiot, and anyone who is still buying their newspapers and magazines is funding the enemy.
Still reading the NY Times? Good. I hope your head rolls down the street with the rest of them.

Great post, DP. And much-needed. Your readers probably already know that corporate-state media are fraudulent and criminal; but, what they might not be so aware of is AP’s death clinch on the message. Most people don’t seem to be aware of just how influential AP is on global news dissemination. If outlets like the NYT, WSJ, and the Washington Post are localized cancer cells, then AP is the general infection. It’s so sad: even McClatchy (formerly Knight Ridder—the only major newspaper that consistently challenged the Bush Admin.) is a member of the AP mafia. If justice prevails, the gallows and dungeons surely await the AP BoD—especially if their lying, bigoted, dehumanizing war propaganda leads to another genocide in Iran or Syria.

A little storyof my own about Associated press. During the israeli war against Lebanon, AP published a piece with a headline:

‘Hezbollah Rockets Hit UN Observation Post’
    http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2006/07/21/AR2006072100157.html

When i first read this, i had my doubts. Reading the article it says this:

    By SAM F. GHATTAS
    The Associated Press
    Friday, July 21, 2006; 6:05 AM

JERUSALEM — A U.N.-run observation post just inside Israel was struck during fighting between Israel and Hezbollah militants on Friday. The Israeli army blamed Hezbollah rockets but a U.N. officer said it was an artillery shell fired by the Israeli Defense Force.

A U.N. officer, speaking on condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the situation, said an artillery shell fired by Israel made “a direct hit on the U.N. position overlooking Zarit.” The post is part of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon.

In this photograph released April 3, 2006 by the Islamic Republic News Agency, the test firing of a Fajr-3 missile by Iran in the Persian Gulf April 1, 2006 is seen. A third-generation Katyusha, the Fajr-3 is believed to have been used by Hezbollah to strike the Israli port city of Haifa. (AP Photo/IRNA) (AP)

But an IDF spokesman said the position was hit by rockets fired by Hezbollah that fell short of their targets in northern Israel’
    =============================

    NOTE:
    1. The article was posted in Jerusalem.
    2. The headline reflects the Israeli view
    3. The first view is Israels!
    4. An anonymous UN person says it was israel.
    5. There is NO Hezbollah comment.
    6. This is an AP piece. BUT Washington paste has the AP headline….Didnt anyone at WP read the piece?
It was also taken up by Boston.com, same headline. This has now vanished from the internet.

I sent my observations to Lenins Tomb who kindly took the baton:

“not one of my associates for sure”, ha ha ha…

    Jolly well done, DesertPeace!

It’s very good that somebody takes up the Associated Press, because

§1. Associated with Google (most of the AP quite openly hosted by them these days) so that AP’s Google’s “political wing” in the same sense as, e.g., SCIRI (SIIC) that of Badr brigades in Iraq.

§2. Nobody, literarily nobody “loses” more stories than the AP, most of their coverage self-disappearing rubbish that’s not worth relinking because any important story by AP is bound to disappear. While you may get an AP story back after 6 months by wayback machine, it’s noteworthy that if hitting an important AP story (i.e. slipped out without censoring) one should always repost it in full & asap, because otherwise it won’t be available too long.

A good way to avoid the AP scam is to always relink/repost a non-AP version of the story in question (e.g. Reuters) and simultaneously support real press.

§3. Furthermore, the AP’s enforced with the Murdoch empire + the south Korean press Czar so that it’s the AP+Google that’s doing most of the phony corporate media phony coverage available in the world these days.

§4. Associated Press is associated to the asses of those offering that facility to AP. In this sense the AP is the main component of the public corporate media matrix described in this article:

Also, thanks for all the contributed comments so far, all sound and solid observations.

Pat Buchanan said “Lying to incite war is a War Crime.” , and I believe him. Perhaps in the future we could see executions of these that spread lies to incite war and hatred. Or, how about the death penalty for any who have tortured a prisoner to death? Even extradition of Isrealites who have tortured Palestinians would be justified. Ok, ha ha, dream on dreamer!

We desperately need a STALAG 17 moment – throw the scumbags out into the compound, and let their fellow scumbags do our dirty work.
