Helen Thomas has served the nation well by asking questions of the Chief Executive (since Truman), endeavoring to bring the hidden truths to light. The first question she had for President Obama, for example, was about as straight forward as you could imagine (paraphrased): ‘can you tell us if there are any nations in the Middle East with nuclear weapons?’
The answer: ‘Well, of course, Helen, Israel, as you know, has many nuclear weapons which we have supplied to them and help to maintain at operational readiness. …’ but no … that wasn’t the answer the President gave – how could he admit that Israel has nuclear weapons (the worst kept secret since finding out that JFK was really assassinated by terrorists from the future who wanted to make sure the Civil Rights Act would be passed … but I digress).
Instead, Obama rambled on about not wanting to see a proliferation of weapons in that area – something that he and the Russians were against. He didn’t answer the question and ‘refused to speculate’ on whether or not any particular country had the weapons.
As Thomas states in the interview – nobody wants a president to speculate: He should know (and he does, don’t be naive). Helen Thomas may have her faults – who doesn’t – but at least she is honest enough to say something that she knows to be the truth, even if the ramifications of the comment may not be politically expedient. There was nothing Antisemitic about her comment, unless you parsed the comment and took portions of it OUT OF CONTEXT – in which case you can make ANYONE sound like a reactionary or racist or Antisemite at some point in time. It is a label used – by the Zionists – to disarm their detractors; beware when you see it being wielded so quickly, especially when it is used against someone that has never, before that incident, expressed anything that seemed even remotely inflammatory toward anyone. People, in my experience, don’t suddenly ‘become’ Antisemites – they harbor those feelings for great periods of time and express the feelings more often than once every fifty years. After a career in the public eye that spanned several decades without having said anything offensive it all seems rather incongruous that Helen Thomas should be some sort of closeted raging Antisemite, waiting for that one moment to fling herself out of that closet into the public eye via ‘Rabbilive.com’. Not.
Here’s the video of the interview about that First Question with President Obama – it’s a very good interview with Thomas.
