It seems that every time an Israeli leader returns from a visit to the United States, new war games begin shortly afterward. Am I the only one to see a connection?
Less than a month ago Netanyahu had talks with President Obama…. what was reported in the press and what was discussed ‘behind closed doors’ are not necessarily the same thing…
BUT… just a few weeks later a helicopter crashed in the hills of Romania killing six Israeli air force personnel. WTH were Israeli air force personnel doing in Romania in the first place? WAR GAMES! Preparation training for a possible new strike against Lebanon? Who knows….
BUT yesterday, it became perfectly clear that this might have been the case….
Lebanese and Israeli troops exchanged fire on the border Tuesday in the most serious clashes since a fierce war four years ago, and Lebanon said at least three of its soldiers and a journalist were killed in shelling.
The violence apparently erupted over a move by Israeli soldiers to trim some hedges along the border, a sign of the level of tensions at the frontier where Israel fought a war in 2006 with the Lebanese militant group Hezbollah.
‘Trimming hedges at the border’??? What a lame excuse!
The GOC Northern Command stressed that “this was a pre-planned event, aggression by the Lebanese army who shot at soldiers inside Israeli territory without any provocation. We view this as a very severe incident.”
‘Pre-planned event’??? The Lebanese army knew about Israel’s ‘gardening plans’ of the day??? Does Israel think we are all stupid?
Do these soldiers look like they were trimming hedges?
Notice the hedge trimming equipment in the photo
All under the watchful eyes of UN personnel
The above photos and the parenthesis are taken from a report that can be seen HERE
All of the above apparently goes unnoticed by the US and most of the European Union…. could this have been part of the discussions ‘behind closed doors’ in Washington?
Talk about ‘conspiracy theories’….. here’s a new one for you to think about.

AlJazeera added this later in the day….
UN: Israel did not cross border

I’m afraid you have it all wrong.
1) UNIFIL has publicly stated that the Israeli troops were in Israeli territory when they were fired upon.
2) Cutting down trees and shrubs is an ongoing process to creat a clear field of vision to make it harder for Hezbollah to make raids into Israel to kill and kidnap Israelis as they did in 2006 thereby provoking that war. Have you looked at the photos of the tree trimming?
3)The Israeli helicoptor that crashed in Romania was not practicing for an attack on Lebanon, but rather for an attack on Irainian nuke sites.
4) Both UNIFIL and the Lebanon Army were notified in advance of the routine tree trimming.
5) The commander of the Lebanon army group in the south is a Shia as are Hezbollah and the Israelis think the shooting was by a rogue army unit and not ordered by the government of Lebanon nor by the upper ranks of their army.
Let us hope the army and government of Lebanon can restrain Hezbollah from continuing attacks on Israel, or as the Israelis have warned terrible destruction will befall them.
You discredit yourself when you put out such blatently false claims.

‘1) UNIFIL has publicly stated that the Israeli troops were in Israeli territory when they were fired upon.’
Actually the Israelis were on the road, which defines the border, in a cherry picker which is clearly seen with it operators straddling the fence on the Lebanese side. The whole argument using ‘security’ for cutting the bushes is a rather thin – the Israelis export advanced infra-red technology so I’m sure they’re not short, have you seen the towers on the Israeli side? I heard the Lebanese fired warning shots, the response was Israeli artillery fire. That seems much more likely.
To suggest the Lebanese war crime of 2006 was about a captured soldier is insulting my intelligence. Again, the Israelis were on the Lebanese side in that incident. Israel is just using the exact same tactic – provoke some petty border squabble as an excuse to launch total war against Lebanon.

Leonard above says:-
“4) Both UNIFIL and the Lebanon Army were notified in advance of the routine tree trimming.”
Er, excuse me but the trees, as clearly demonstrated by photos shown to the public but strangely not in this article, are on the Lebanese side of the border. Doesn’t that mean it’s up to the Lebanese whether the trees remain or not?
