Think the end of DOMA or the Voting Rights Act will change the US? The Supreme Court just handed down a decision that rewrites the Constitution, claiming we have no Fifth Amendment protection unless we explicitly call for it.

Remaining silent no longer protects you from self-incrimination. In order to have your Constitutional rights asserted, you actually have to say, out loud, “I’m invoking my right to remain silent” — even if no Miranda rights have been read or arrests made.

This ruling implies the Fifth Amendment is not a right but a privilege, and one for the well-educated and best-informed at that.

We call on Congress to pass legislation overruling this as much as possible and requiring law enforcement to inform both witnesses and suspects of these maladjusted rights.

PETITION TO CONGRESS: We are appalled by the recent SCOTUS decision to gut the Fifth Amendment. We call on our lawmakers to pass legislation to re-establish our right to remain silent and require law enforcement to spread word of this awful change in the meantime.

The placard saying ‘Shut Down Capitalism’ has it wrong. It should say
    ‘Shut Down CRONY capitalism’.
People must demand an end to the fox guarding the hen house form of capitalism we’ve had for decades and a return to properly regulated capitalism.

What everyone needs to know is that the destruction of the original Occupy movement was a coordinated Federal attack against the people of the United States by its own government. This was illegal. Policing is a LOCAL activity and, as everyone knows policing is done –at least in ideal theory–on BEHALF of “we the people”, not against us. I.e. when no laws are broken the police, in acting are NOT doing their assigned jobs and are derelict in their duties.

This implies two deductions: A) the 1% fear the power of the 99%. The 1% know that they and their treasonous economic policies CAN be defeated and, B) The 1% will go to any extreme to destroy a populist movement to bring justice to America. This implies we must, MUST keep fighting back. No justice, no peace….

I send My Brotherly Love to all the good people at DesertPeace, and and all the good people who support Occupy.

When I saw the peaceful Occupy Protesters getting brutal police-beatings, tear gas in the face, reporters gassed and arrested, grenade-launcher cannisters fired into the brain (Scott Olsen) ….

….I understood why the USA is now ranked only the 47th most free country.

Ironicly, the treatment of the peace-loving Occupy protesters , was just like the daily life of the defenseless Palestinian families in Gaza and the other tiny patches of land Israel has not stolen yet.
