    Peace on Earth?

“Aren’t humans amazing? They kill wildlife – birds, deer, all kinds of cats, coyotes, beavers, groundhogs, mice and foxes by the million in order to protect their domestic animals and their feed.

Then they kill domestic animals by the billion and eat them. This in turn kills people by the million, because eating all those animals leads to degenerative – and fatal – health conditions like heart disease, stroke, kidney disease, and cancer.

So then humans spend billions of dollars torturing and killing millions more animals to look for cures for these diseases.

Elsewhere, millions of other human beings are being killed by hunger and malnutrition because food they could eat is being used to fatten domestic animals.

Meanwhile, few people recognize the absurdity of humans, who kill so easily and violently, and then plead for ‘Peace on Earth.'” C. David Coates

The good news is that anyone can break this cycle of violence. I did and you can too. Each of us has the power to choose compassion. Peace really does begin in the kitchen. Hey Mr. Vegan, if you really want to help reduce the suffering of animals, then instead of promoting an extremist philosophy that 85% of people will never adopt, nor even consider, because they feel better physically with some meat in them, try promoting a middle-way approach of reducing suffering by: a) using ether gas to put animals to sleep before slaughter, b) discouraging the eating of mammals since they relate to the evolution of the emotion of “love”, promoting instead the eating of lower lifeforms who do not experience such highly evolved emotions. After eliminating mammals from the diet, birds would be next (also having a maternal instinct), whereas reptiles and fish don’t have that sense of love for their offspring because they just drop them and leave, and eat them later.
Finally, consider entomophagy. Even cows eat insects! As do all primates and even all herbivores (except herbivorous insects). Vegans are a very unnatural species, indeed.
