The British broadcaster Sky News apologized for showing images of the Gaza conflict during an interview about the Holocaust with British Chief Rabbi Ephraim Mirvis.

The truth hurts!

The following was sent to my email list and posted on my Facebook:

    Dear Citizens of the World,

70 years ago on this date, January 27, 1945, the Nazi Auschwitz concentration was liberated by the Soviet Union. Built for the extermination of Polish political prisoners, before it was liberated, over 1.1 million people had been systematically murdered, 90 percent Jewish in fulfillment of the “Final Solution” of the “Jewish Question”. Also in Auschwitz were 150,000 Poles, 23,000 Romani (Gypsies), 15,000 Soviet prisoners of war, 400 Jehovah’s Witnesses, homosexuals, and people of other nationalities.

Today we continue to see modern examples of grotesque and brutal racist atrocities and attacks that we seem not to be able to stop. We must never forget the Nazi holocaust and we must apply ourselves to stem the rising tide of oppression and hatred so that there is not another Auschwitz. As one of the speakers at today’s memorial at Auschwitz said “there should be an 11th Commandment: Thou shalt not be a bystander.”

“There can be no justice without peace and there can be no peace without justice”
Martin Luther King, Jr., December 14, 1967
