The Children Lose, Again

by Abby Zimet

A California museum has cancelled an exhibit of art by Palestinian kids in Gaza, reportedly after pressure from pro-Israel groups in the Bay Area. The Museum of Children’s Art in Oakland had been working for months with the Middle East Children’s Alliance on the project, “A Child’s View of Gaza,” set to open in two weeks. Does it really need to be said: Kids shouldn’t have to pay for the appalling cruelty and stupidity of adults. Look at this art.

“The only winners here are those who spend millions of dollars censoring any criticism of Israel and silencing the voices of children who live every day under military siege and occupation.” – Barbara Lubin of MECA.

    I know that Palestinians are being killed by the Isrealis, but I think some of these drawings have to be from adults.

    I take that last comment back.

    No doubt the Jewish lobby is breathing a huge sigh if relief, likely even celebrating that they wield so much influence over the stupid goy. I predict that at a time in the not-too-distant future, that relationship with their American pets will become toxic. This hideous plan that is playing out, organized by cowards in the shadows who sit back and laugh at their puppets, is quickly unraveling. They have not only underestimated the “goy” but also the resilience and courage of the Palestinian people.

    I sincerely hope that a sponsor with courage steps forward to assist financially to ensure these expressions of soul by these kids, who poured their hearts out, are seen by those in the west… especially those who blindly support Israel because they believe they’ll get extra “blessings”. Instead of a static display, I would suggest really annoying them and turning it into a traveling display. The key would be to ensure each is done on property that the government has no hold on. I truly believe that there would be churches who would host this display… Ted Pike’s NPL network may be able to assist.

    As a writer and poet, I know how crucial that need for artistic expression really is. We put a part of our very soul into each creation – just as these kids from Palestine have – and it is cruel beyond measure for anybody or any organization to rob them of their rightful privilege of displaying their work to the world.

    It is a sad day in our history when the Jewish community think its an insult on their invasion of Palestine. I cannot tell you how irritated I am to think that they have the right to cancel these sketches when Israel is killing and displacing the Palestanians. I feel sorry that the USA is siding with Israel because they are the only friendly nation in the Middle East and they are getting a great deal of money from us. I am not from the M.E. but I do feel sorry for everything that the people from Israel think that they own every inch where they reside. Think for a minute what you would do if you were kicked out of your land?

    @peggy,

    before the u.s. voted at the u.n. for the terrorists to steal palestine & build israel on it, every nation in the middle-east was america’s friend.

    the u.s. government has made itself hated and backed a bunch of global terrorists all in one move!

    We have time on our side. Their world is collapsing and no amount of US aid or bombs can save them. As the old adage goes “You reap what you sow.” I truly hope the world community treast Israel and their zionist ideoloogy like they did with Germany and Nazism post WW2. Nuremburg-like Trials should be established..

    Actually this maybe the best thing to happen knowing these pictures will go viral over the net rather then being cooped up in the Calf Museum. The astounding thing is how regular people in the USA think Gaza is an internet fairytale and Israel would never do the things being depicted in these drawings. Amazing things are drawn by children when so deeply effected by their surroundings. I pray I live to see the day the Israeli Government is brought down for it’s atrocities. God Speed USA

    I live in one of the many American ally nations of the ME (not Israel, need I say ?). My daughter was 6 in 2001 and could still not read, but she could understand a political cartoon better than most adults and, as the wars developed, drew many of her own, some of them more sophisticated than those in the newspaper. A few of them were brilliant for any age, and all gave us pause.

    Trust me, Jon, whether you take the comment back or not, little kids understand justice. They see the truth, and they draw it very well ! That’s why they are feared by liars and other criminals.

    These pictures speak louder than words that’s why the Jewish Community Relation Council, and the Jewish Federation of the East Bay were terrified and afraid that these drawings would leave an everlasting impression on non Jews and cancelled the exhibit.

    It is blatantly despicable that American money is enabling racist/zionist psychopaths to create the war on children and then actually allowing them to GLOAT ABOUT IT IN THE PRESS!
