THE 3 B’s ……. BIBI’s BIG BLUFF

Netanyahu himself said that the agreement between Israel and the UAE would not stop the annexation of the West Bank, nor does it mean that the “Jewish state” is ready to give up control of large parts of the West Bank.

Troika of terror

The big bluff

By Evelyn Hecht-Galinski

Netanyahu is getting closer and closer to his goal of the final annexation of the West Bank with the help of characterless Arab potentates, even if it is not currently on the US Trump agenda. Postponed is not canceled for a long time. When Netanyahu surprisingly announced the planned agreement with the United Arab Emirates (UAE), the surprise was great about this big bluff. There have been secret contacts between some Gulf states and the “Jewish state” for years. Israel and the Gulf States share a hatred of Iran. Just like the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Mohammed Al-Zayed, the Saudi ruler King Salman campaigned for a common front against Iran. These contacts, as well as the visit of the hardliner Zionist, of the Israeli Sports Minister Miri Regev to the “Abu Dhabi Grand Slam” two years ago when, to the great astonishment of all those present, after the Israeli judoka Sagi Muki had won gold, the national anthem of the “Jewish state”, the “Ha-Tikva” (“ Our Hope), the song of the Zionist movement, premiered in the UAE. (1)

When the foreign minister of Oman bin Abdullah spoke positively about Israel at a security conference in Bahrain and Netanyahu returned from a visit to Oman to see Sultan Qaboos, the first visit by a head of government of the “Jewish state”, the ice was apparently broken. Especially since the contacts are diverse, from a representation of Israel of the “International Agency for Renewable Energies” (IRENA), as well as a pavilion in the world exhibition “Expo 2020” in Dubai, postponed to 2021 (2) (3) (4)

Very typical of the “Jewish state” are the “murderous exports”

The “murderous exports” are very typical of the “Jewish state”; A particularly “popular highlight” in the Gulf States is the Israeli espionage goods such as those from the NSO Group. The UAE used this espionage software against Emirati human rights activists like Ahmed Mansour. The cell phone of the brutally and deviously murdered journalist Jamal Kashoggi in the Saudi embassy in Istanbul was also spied on. The UAE also installed the Israeli “Falcon Eye” system for full surveillance of the state owned by former intelligence agent Mati Kochavi. Kochavi has been one of the most successful suppliers in the UAE for years. He is one of the most successful internet entrepreneurs and one of many business people who will be “nasty at nothing” if it only brings in money and fame. He and his daughter won a series award for a “Shoah” Instagram series “Eva’s Daughter”. (5) (6) (7) (8) (9).

All the contacts were initiated by the Mossad boss Yossi Cohen, who, together with the Israeli ambassador to the USA, Ron Dermer, worked hard behind the scenes, as Netanyahu tweeted praising. The Mossad and the Israeli Foreign Ministry have numerous professional diplomats and staff who are fluent in Arabic and who specialize in the Arab world. (10) (11) (12)

The planned UAE / Israel agreement also offers the UAE the opportunity to finally be able to buy a large number of weapons in the USA without having to fear criticism or objections from the “Zionist friends”. After all, US President Trump had done everything possible to force billions in arms sales to the UAE, despite opposition from Congress because of the high number of civilian casualties in connection with the use of these weapons in Yemen. In Libya, the UAE has been criticized for violating a 2011 UN Security Council arms embargo by supplying combat equipment to the armed forces commanded by General Haftar, known for violating human rights. Here, too, Turkey and Erdogan proved to be important opponents of Haftar, in contrast to the UAE and France. Haftar boasted that Israel had supplied him with weapons after multiple meetings with Mossad agents. Here, too, the interests of the UAE and the Israelis are the same. (13) (14) (15) (16)

“True peacemakers” have come together

Did the “Auschwitz Minister” Heiko Maas actually consider that during his short visit to the Emirates after his trip to Libya? He praised and praised the UAE for having shown “with this historic step towards normalizing relations with Israel that they can make an important contribution to peace in the region,” said Maas before his departure on Tuesday. We see what this post looks like in Libya, Yemen and in the Israeli-occupied Palestinian territories. “True peacemakers” have come together, and once again this foreign minister turns out to be a unilateral bearer of Israeli propaganda, although he has long ceased to be interested in the Palestinians, as he proved on his inaugural visit to the “Jewish state” when he “had no time.” “Had for the Palestinian Government. However, he is now actually hoping for “peace talks” between Israel and the Palestinians. It is a mystery to me, however, where this hope is strengthened from. However, it would not be the first and will probably not be the last incorrect assessment of the “Auschwitz Minister”. (17) (18) (19) (20) (21)

“Netanyahu’s plan is annexation.”

The Israeli historian Moshe Zimmermann said in the ARD Tagesschau: “Netanyahu’s plan is annexation.” It couldn’t be more clearly and accurately than Zimmermann. (22)

After all, Netanyahu himself said that the agreement between Israel and the UAE would not stop the annexation of the West Bank, nor does it mean that the “Jewish state” is ready to give up control of large parts of the West Bank. This announcement only confirmed Netanyahu’s well-known policy. He underlined once again that he is committed to the Trump “peace plan”, in which the “Jewish state” will gain another 30% of the occupied West Bank (Judea and Samaria), and that the planned annexation will remain committed. “Bilateral tourism, telephone lines that have already been opened and flight connections are being worked at full speed, so that direct flights between Tel Aviv and Dubai and Abu Dhabi via Saudi Arabia” will be made possible.

Actually, this agreement only intensifies the spreading Judaization

Actually, this agreement only intensifies the spreading Judaization, this time with the help of disloyal Arab states, at the expense of the Palestinians. After the US embassy was moved from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, the US recognized the occupied Golan Heights as Israeli territory, as well as the planned annexation. This so-called peace plan without Palestinian participation or consent, by President Trump and his son-in-law Kushner as the main strategists, had stolen everything from the Palestinians, without any concession or mercy. If they now also lose the support of the Arab states, then that is the cementing of the illegal occupation of Palestine without Palestinians. Only Turkey, NATO member and one of Palestine’s most important and reliable supporters criticized the agreement with the UAE and threatened to end diplomatic ties with the Emirates. (23)

With an end to the illegal occupation, and that’s the big bluff.

The fact that this agreement between two countries in the Middle East was announced in distant Washington, in the White House, clearly demonstrated what it is really about to iron out Trump’s dwindling charisma for the election campaign, as well as Netanyahu’s corruption affair and his chaotic “Corona- Management ”. Both want to improve their bad image and cover up their mistakes, there is only one thing that is certainly not the issue: peace for the Middle East and freedom for Palestine with an end to the illegal occupation, and that is the big bluff. Trump’s challenger, Democrat Joe Biden with black “Israel lobbyist” Kamala Harris at his side, also rushed to congratulate Israel and the UAE for “sucking honey” and trying to get some of the laurels without forgetting to point out that he had already contributed a lot to this agreement during his tenure under “Obama-O-Bomba”, with several meetings with leading Israeli and Emirati personalities, and was therefore very pleased with the announcement. So from bad to worse when it comes to the “Jewish state” and Palestine! Not good prospects (24 (25)

“One” flew over the concentration camp

When 200 Israeli Air Force members gather on Monday for joint exercises with the German Armed Forces at the air base in Nörvenich in North Rhine-Westphalia in order to ascend to a “historical” maneuver, then we, as advocates of a free Palestine, can only rage. Distracted from “big politics” like the corona pandemic, nothing is heard of illegal Zionist occupation, Gaza attacks or settlement construction. It is said to be a sign of “defenselessness and strength” that Israel, only 75 years after the liberation of Auschwitz, exercises operations together with Germany in the “land of perpetrators”.

Isn’t it rather a sign of German weakness when the descendants of the former perpetrators ignore everything and seem to have learned nothing? How can German soldiers mutate together with Israeli soldiers, the descendants of the victims and into today’s perpetrators, in an unprecedented propaganda “Hasbara-Aktion”, with a Learjet, in which the two air force chiefs, the Israeli major general Amikam Norkin and the German lieutenant general Ingo Gertz will be sitting, flanked by two Israeli F16 and two German Eurofighters, in this formation to commemorate the Olympic assassination in 1972, fly over the Fürstenfeldbruck air base, then over Dachau, and together to set off to the former Dachau concentration camp for a memorial ceremony at which ” Minister of War “AKK, Kamp Karrenbauer, will take part to commemorate the murdered there. They actually call it a “message of the future” designed to make their mutual relationships even closer. Already in 2003 there was a more than embarrassing overflight of Israeli “Star of David fighter jets” during a commemoration ceremony over Auschwitz, which was only cheered by traumatized Israel lobbyists like Henryk M. Broder in the “Jumping World”.(26)

With the slogan “Never again” one tried to bring a peaceful note to this provocation. So this time it’s Dachau’s turn, and this propaganda campaign has to serve to suggest peaceful intentions. While the German side only speaks of a “flyby”, the “Jewish friends” speak of an “overflight”. If that’s supposed to be a sign of “never again”, then it’s completely wrong. Jewish “defense soldiers” have proven since 1948, since the Nakba, that they have long since converted “never again” into “again and again”. (27)

Germany has long since proven itself to be one of the most loyal vassals of the “Jewish occupying and apartheid state” and does not shy away from practicing with the occupying soldiers and, as in 2014, training 200 German soldiers together with Israeli soldiers for tunnels and house-to-house combat . Will German Bundeswehr soldiers perhaps soon be used to maintain the illegal occupation of Palestine? After all, you want to practice surface-to-air combat, dealing with surface-to-air missile threats and other combat scenarios in enemy territory. If one does not question why the current maneuver “Blue Wings 2020”, with 200 Israeli Air Force members, six F16 planes, two military Boeing 707s for refueling, as well as two passenger planes, actually serves? Die Junge Welt and Arnold Stötzel described it aptly: “The Israeli air force guests put their German friends a clean bill of health in front of their home door that says, Never again Wehrmacht, in future only anti-war wars.” What we can think of it, we know: death, Destruction and occupation.

The spectacle began with a welcoming ceremony for the Israeli friends, the “warmest hug” one can give and offer. With the supporting program of the joint visit to the Dachau concentration camp memorial in the presence of the “deeply moved” German “Defense” Minister Kramp-Karrenbauer in view of the flight action of the formation near Dachau and the ambassador of the “Jewish state”, Jeremy Issacharoff, the Holocaust Instrumentalization perfect. Only crowned by the expressly welcomed decision by the Central Council President Schuster, the CDU executive committee, that in future every student should be able to visit a concentration camp. I also suggest a visit to Gaza, as well as the Nakba exhibition, which should be in every German city. (28) (29) (30)

PALESTINE STILL YEARNS TO BE FREE

Can and may one still remember the Holocaust and Auschwitz without mentioning the Nakba and the associated ethnic cleansing of Palestine?

The liberation of Palestine is still pending

By Evelyn Hecht-Galinski

On May 8, 2020, the 75th anniversary of the end of the war, and the Red Army’s liberation from fascism, Federal President Steinmeier delivered his obligatory speech and failed to mention the brave Red Army soldiers as liberators. And of all places in Berlin, where after the victory over fascist Germany two Soviet soldiers raised the red flag on the bombed Reichstag; impressively documented on many photos.

A climate of hostility to Russia

This shabby omission not only offends the Soviet peoples, but is supposed to create a climate of hostility towards Russia, mainly in Germany, which is still being pushed by a Federal President! So far, this has not been the case according to surveys. On the contrary, the majority of Germans want to live in peace with our neighbor Russia.

27 million Russian war dead warn

In this commemorative speech he wants to commemorate “together with representatives of the Allies from the West and from the East” without explicitly referring to the soldiers of the Red Army. Wasn’t it the Soviet soldiers in this war who had to mourn 27 million war deaths in fascist Germany? Steinmeier does not get this mention through his narrow lips. Putin has become an enemy of the German political circus, but not the German population, not only since Russia connected Crimea to the Russian Federation after applying to join the Russian Federation.

Illegal sanctions against Russia are maintained

In blind obedience, one follows the United States and the belligerent transatlantic alliance and the agitation of NATO, and continually strives for international law when it comes to Russia. It even accepts considerable damage to the German economy and maintains the illegal sanctions.

Steinmeier found no word for the Muslims on the part of the liberators

In his speech, Steinmeier also found no word for the countless Muslims who fought on the part of the liberators in this war of annihilation or whose political resistance cost them their lives. There were also many Muslims from the many Soviet republics among the countless Soviet prisoners of war. Steinmeier also forgot the Muslims who either ended up in the resistance or as fighters in the concentration camp, suffered from the most terrible conditions and were not allowed to practice their religion. It is a chapter that has remained silent to this day and does not fit into the picture that is drawn by Muslims today.

An imam was missing from the ecumenical service

This ignorance continued in the ecumenical service in the Berlin Cathedral, in which Catholic representatives, Protestant representatives, a Jewish cantor and an archpriest participated as representatives of Christian churches in Germany, but no Imam as a representative of the Muslims. It is an affront that no representative of this world religion was invited to this memorial service. Another question comes to my mind: What does a reference to God have to do in this context? Why is a service celebrated in the face of this political commemoration? We seem more distant than ever from the separation of state and church, as religious influence in Germany is growing. (1)

“Cold war thinking” belongs to the rubbish of history

If the much-vaunted strong democracy that the Federal President invokes would work, then the “cold war thinking” fueled by German parliamentarians would finally end up in the trash of history. What happens instead? We are always presented with new old enemy images to justify the associated costs for the new increasing armament figures. NATO, nuclear weapons stationed on German soil, are sold to us as vital “peacekeeping” measures. Exactly the opposite is the case. The fortunately outgoing military officer is already advocating the use of armed drones, in the spirit of the “Minister of War” Kramp-Karrenbauer. No word from the Federal President against this new kind of armament, only 75 years after the end of the war and the liberation of Auschwitz, by the way also by the Red Army on January 27th. All of these dates are unthinkable without the Soviet Liberation Army. But that is shamefully kept secret in the transatlantic cheering storm and the armament orgy.

“German history is a broken story – with responsibility for millions of murders and millions of sufferings. It still breaks our hearts today. Therefore: You can only love this country with a broken heart ”, but this does not prevent Steinmeier from indulging in massive military rearmament and the threat scenario of the infamous encirclement of Russia financed with our tax money and other military services for the USA / NATO!

“‘Never again!’ – We swore to ourselves after the war. But this “Never again!”, For us Germans, means above all: ‘Never again alone!’ “This Steinmeiersche” Never again “actually means” Never again alone on the war path “… see the” Easter crawl “and the encirclement of Russia.

Human dignity is inviolable and indivisible

Then he quotes Article 1 of the German Basic Law: “Human dignity is inviolable”, which is all too often broken in Germany. Indeed, human dignity is inviolable and indivisible, and I emphasize: also for Palestinians, Muslims and for BDS supporters and Israeli critics! (2)

No memory of the Holocaust without a memory of the Nakba

So of course I asked myself the question, can and may one still remember the Holocaust and Auschwitz without mentioning the Nakba and the associated ethnic cleansing of Palestine? Steinmeier said: “Not accepting responsibility is disgraceful – denying is disgraceful”. How true! To date, the “Jewish state” has not faced the processing of the Nakba and the associated Zionist atrocities in order to deal with them, let alone compensate the victims for allowing the right of return of the millions of refugees displaced with brutal violence to their home in Palestine. They continue to be denied this legal right. And with the help of the USA, the illegal occupation of Palestine is to be sealed with the upcoming planned annexations.

Why are sanctions against the Jewish apartheid regime rejected?

Has President Steinmeier commented on this? No, just like the German federal government, it fully supports the German rationale for the “Jewish state”. Germany has rejected long overdue sanctions against the Jewish apartheid regime.

Responsibility to the Palestinians in memory of May 8th

This raises the question of what about the responsibility towards the Palestinians, which should also be commemorative of May 8th and should be seen in a context. Every “blood drop of occupation” that has been shed to this day is also and especially the responsibility of Germany, which is made possible by active help to maintain this occupation. When will Germany and the EU finally follow the demand for a network of European human rights groups and impose sanctions on the “Jewish state”? (3)

The Nakba commemoration will be celebrated worldwide on May 15th

How much longer will Germany watch as the Palestinian people are oppressed, humiliated, expropriated and murdered by Jewish occupiers? From our history in particular, “never again” means an obligation to take responsibility for the Palestinian people. An important duty, 75 years after the end of the war and 72 years after the Nakba, which is celebrated worldwide on May 15. (4)

Raise the flag of Palestine

Therefore, the demands of the German-Israeli society “to show the flag for friendship” with the Jewish apartheid and occupation state, and to call on the municipalities and district administrations to raise the flag of Israel on May 12th must be rejected sharply. This tasteless provocation of raising the bloodstained Star of David flag, the symbol of the oppression of Palestine, is intended to commemorate the establishment of diplomatic relations 55 years ago. The not uncontroversial President of the DIG, Uwe Becker, still remembered the reason for the state. On that day, instead of the Star of David, the flag of Palestine was to be hoisted, as a symbol for the freedom of Palestine that has not yet been achieved.

Known diversions from Zionist occupation crimes

So it is only to be seen in the well-known Israel lobby tradition when the rise of more anti-Semitic crimes is pointed out almost daily and currently in concentrated media propaganda. Isn’t anti-Semitic crime a part of disparaging Jewish Israeli critics and terminating Jewish accounts or organizations critical of Israel, what does that remind us? These well-known diversions, which are supposed to distract from Zionist occupation crimes and the impending annexation of Palestinian land, as well as from the increasing de-democratization of the “Jewish state” with all its consequences. Finally, it can be expected that after the swearing in of this new “annexation regime” protests will begin worldwide, including in Germany. If the citizens of the “Jewish state” have already chosen this regime and decided to intensify the oppression and occupation, resistance becomes a duty and more Palestinian. In this context, the German advance in Hezbollah, especially at the present time, is to be seen. Hezbollah is an important resistance organization and elected ruling party in the coalition in Lebanon. So how can you build on that? By bringing even more targeted allegations of anti-Semitism into everyday politics and letting the Federal Commissioner for Anti-Semitism run free in the wake of the “calf biter”. This has to be replaced and instead an urgently needed racism officer has to be appointed. Increasing oppression and occupation is becoming a duty of resistance and more Palestinian resistance. This has to be replaced and instead an urgently needed racism officer has to be appointed. to see. This has to be replaced and instead an urgently needed racism officer has to be appointed. to see.

In the meantime, Palestine, the illegal occupation, and the Palestinian people in resistance are receiving less and less political and media attention, just as planned by Hasbara and its worldwide aid workers, the Sayanim.

The “Jewish state” consistently thwarts non-violent resistance

Because the “Jewish state” consistently uses all possible means to thwart non-violent resistance, because Palestinian people are executed out of court by heavily armed soldiers of the “most moral Jewish defense army” and thus act as state terrorists, then that is “never again” degenerate into a sad phrase, a worthless ritual, just as worthless as a reference to common “Christian-Jewish” values and hypocritical sermons a la Steinmeier!

Palestinians must have the same rights to defend themselves

As long as the German and international communities remain blind to the expulsion, criminal expropriation of the Palestinians and the accelerating slow death of the Palestinian people, which allows ethnic cleansing, even actively arming and financing the Zionist regime involved, one must finally grant the Palestinians the same rights to self-defense that the Zionist regime repeatedly declares for themselves in order to legitimize their massacres, as Chancellor Merkel has already affirmed. But if this legitimate right to resist is denied to the Palestinians, then the dignity of Palestinian people is at risk! So it’s getting more urgent, the global, to actively support the growing BDS movement, especially in times of rampant attempts at intimidation and defamation by Zionists. This is the only way to end the deadly and violent occupation. So the liberation of Palestine is still pending and as the great Nelson Mandela said: “We know only too well that our freedom is incomplete without the freedom of the Palestinians.”

ZION USES FACEBOOK TO TARGET THE POETRY OF FREEDOM

Facebook campaigns were run by professional Washington D.C. political operatives who work for a group called the Israel on Campus Coalition, according to promotional materials obtained by ProPublica and the Forward.

Pro-Israel Group Secretly Ran Misleading Facebook Ads To Target Palestinian-American Poet

This story was co-published with ProPublica, the investigative journalism organization.

In 2016, as Palestinian-American poet Remi Kanazi performed at college campuses around the United States, his appearances seemed to spark student protests.

Before his visit to John Jay College of Criminal Justice in New York City, a page called “John Jay Students Against Hate” appeared on Facebook with Kanazi’s face next to a uniformed cop, painting Kanazi as anti-police. When Kanazi crossed the country a few days later to visit San Jose State, a nearly-identical Facebook page popped up, this one called “SJSU Students Against Hate,” with Kanazi’s face superimposed over an image of military graves. Paid Facebook campaigns promoted both pages.

Despite their names, the Facebook campaigns were run by professional Washington D.C. political operatives who work for a group called the Israel on Campus Coalition, according to promotional materials obtained by ProPublica and the Forward.

In the materials, which the ICC distributed to its donors, the group describes each of the Facebook pages as an “anonymous digital campaign.” The group says it paid to promote the campaign, which reached tens of thousands of people.

The social media campaigns provide another example of how well-funded advocacy organizations are using deceptive strategies to promote their cause online. The ICC launched these campaigns during the 2016 election season, at the same time that entities linked to the Russian government bought misleading Facebook ads on a range of political issues.

The ICC didn’t respond to requests for comment. The group had a budget of $9 million in its fiscal year ending in June 2017, according to federal tax filings. Its funders include the foundations of billionaire Republican donor Paul Singer and philanthropist Lynn Schusterman.

Asked about the Israel on Campus Coalition pages, a Facebook spokesman said they “violate our policies against misrepresentation and they have been removed.”

In response to criticism of Russia-linked ads, Facebook recently created new rules requiring disclosure of who is paying for political ads on the site. How the company defines what is political remains murky.

Anonymous digital campaigns appear to be a central part of the ICC’s efforts to combat pro-Palestinian activism on U.S. campuses. This past spring, the ICC appears to have set up at least one anonymous website to oppose a George Washington University student government resolution that called on the school to divest its endowment from certain companies that students said were profiting from Israeli violations of Palestinian rights, the Forward reported.

The ICC’s leaders discussed their covert social media tactics in an unaired Al Jazeera documentary featuring hidden camera footage of Washington, D.C. pro-Israel advocacy officials.

“With the anti-Israel people, what’s most effective, what we found at least in the last year, is you do the opposition research, put up some anonymous website, and then put up targeted Facebook ads,” said the ICC’s executive director, Jacob Baime, in the Al Jazeera documentary, which was filmed in 2016. The film was viewed by ProPublica and the Forward.

Baime also said in the documentary that his organization’s work is based on a doctrine used to fight Al Qaeda and the Taliban. “It’s modeled on General Stanley McChrystal’s counterinsurgency strategy,” Baime said. “We’ve copied a lot from that strategy that has been working really well for us, actually.”

McChrystal, who led the U.S. military’s special forces and the NATO war effort in Afghanistan in 2009 and 2010, emphasized so-called “offensive information operations” to embarrass and discredit violent insurgents.

The Al Jazeera documentary, in which a journalist went undercover as an intern for a pro-Israel advocacy group in Washington, has been the subject of months of international intrigue and has never been aired by the network. Decrying the undercover tactics, pro-Israel groups and members of Congress have pushed back against the documentary series and Qatar, which funds Al Jazeera. The network, which has faced public criticism from its own journalists for not airing the documentary, said in April it did not buckle under pressure from a pro-Israel group in deciding not to broadcast the program. A spokesman didn’t respond to requests for comment.

Footage in the documentary also shows ICC officials describing their working relationship with the Israeli government.

Baime says in the documentary that ICC officials “coordinate” or “communicate” with Israel’s Ministry of Strategic Affairs, an Israeli government department that has become the hub of the Israeli government’s overt and covert efforts against the boycott, divestment and sanctions movement in the U.S. and around the world. A spokesman for the agency didn’t respond to requests for comment.

In the same hidden camera footage, Ian Hersh, the ICC’s director of operations, said that the Ministry of Strategic Affairs participates in the group’s “Operations and Intelligence Brief,” a regular strategy meeting.

In recent days, some aspects of the Al Jazeera documentary as well as a short clip have been posted on the website Electronic Intifada, a pro-Palestinian news site whose executive director, Ali Abunimah, appears as an interviewee in the film.

Baime and Hersh didn’t respond to requests for comment about the footage of them in the documentary.

The ICC’s online efforts against Kanazi, the Palestinian-American poet, began in November 2016 while he was touring college campuses to promote his book, “Before the Next Bomb Drops: Rising Up From Brooklyn to Palestine.”

According to the ICC’s donor materials, the group identified and worked with a non-Jewish military veteran and San Jose State University student to write a blog post critical of Kanazi. The precise nature of the group’s work with the student is unclear from the donor materials, and the student did not respond to requests for comment.

The ICC then created and paid to promote the “SJSU Students Against Hate” page, which linked to the blog post.

“Kanazi preaches hate on the campuses he visits,” the student wrote in the post, which appeared on the website Medium and has since been deleted.

Kanazi said that he does not recall being aware of the anonymous Facebook pages at the time. “These insidious tactics are part of a larger campaign to smear students, professors, and anyone who dares speak up for Palestinian human rights at universities,” he said in an email.

THE NEW UNTOUCHABLES ~~ THE KOSHER NOSTRA

As the ‘illegal’ roundup continues, there is one group that seems to be completely untouchable …

An Israeli man who owns kiosks in shopping malls in seven states was sentenced to 6 1/2 years in jail for illegally employing Israeli nationals to sell Dead Sea beauty products.

Yet this criminal activity continues …. and the Feds turn a blind eye to it

Lost cities of Palestine: Haifa, Nazareth, and Jaffa

Rarely seen archival footage accompanies memories and accounts of forgotten Palestinian cities – highlighting the catastrophic effect the creation of Israel in 1948 had on them.

Haifa, Nazareth, and Jaffa have all been overshadowed by Tel Aviv, but in their day each of the Palestinian cities had magnificent commercial and cultural ability.

“Palestinians born after 1948 don’t realise what they have missed,” says writer Raef Zreik.

“We only realise what we’ve lost when we hear people’s stories about Palestine before 1948. People who spent the night at to clubs and movies in Haifa, who spent the night there and the next day took taxis from Al-Hanateer Square to go back home at the American University in Beirut. You could do what you liked. We not only lost our cities in 1948, but also our open relationship with the Arab world.”

Made for Al Jazeera Arabic in 2011, Lost Cities of Palestine provides a rare opportunity to see Palestine as it was in the 30s and 40s and learn about the everyday life and culture of urban Palestine before 1948.

ISRAELI AGENTS USED TO SILENCE WEINSTEIN’S RAPE VICTIMS

Disgraced Hollywood mogul Harvey Weinstein employed former Israeli agents as part of an elaborate and aggressive effort to spy on and suppress the allegations by women who have accused him of sexual assault and rape.

Harvey Weinstein used Israeli spies in effort to silence victims

Disgraced Hollywood mogul Harvey Weinstein employed former Israeli agents as part of an elaborate and aggressive effort to spy on and suppress the allegations by women who have accused him of sexual assault and rape.

In an exposé for The New Yorker, Ronan Farrow reveals that among the web of private investigators and firms Weinstein enlisted was Black Cube, “an enterprise run largely by former officers of Mossad and other Israeli intelligence agencies.”

According to its company literature, Black Cube says its operatives are “highly experienced and trained in Israel’s elite military and governmental intelligence units.”

Its advisory board is packed with present and former Israeli military and intelligence figures, including “the late Meir Dagan,” the former head of Mossad, and Giora Eiland, an Israeli general who habitually uses media to threaten death and destruction to Palestinians and Lebanese.

Tweeting her reaction to the story, Asia Argento asked rhetorically why she and other prominent actresses did not speak up earlier. She answered her own question: “We were followed by ex-Mossad agents. Isn’t that terrifying? Very.”

Farrow tweeted that this was the “craziest story I’ve ever reported, and a rare professional experience that made me fear for my safety.”

In a follow-up tweet he emphasized that “over the course of a year, elite Israeli intelligence agents using false identities insinuated themselves into Rose McGowan’s life.”

Mossad methods

Black Cube’s mission was to prevent actress Rose McGowan, who has also accused Weinstein of rape, and others, from ever being able to tell their stories.

Two Black Cube operatives met with McGowan. “One of the investigators pretended to be a women’s rights advocate and secretly recorded at least four meetings with McGowan,” according to The New Yorker.

The same operative using a different false identity contacted reporters pretending to be a victim of Weinstein.

Written into Black Cube’s contract was a bonus of hundreds of thousands of dollars if it provided “intelligence” sufficient to stop the publication of stories exposing Weinstein’s actions.

In May, McGowan was contacted by a “Diana Filip,” who claimed to be a women’s rights advocate working for a London-based investment firm called Reuben Capital Partners. She offered McGowan a $60,000 fee to speak at a London gala and over the course of several meetings suggested she’d invest in McGowan’s production company.

“In one meeting in September, Filip was joined by another Black Cube operative, who used the name Paul and claimed to be a colleague at Reuben Capital Partners,” The New Yorker reports. Their goal “was to pass McGowan to another operative to extract more information.”

It turned out, however, that “Diana Filip” was an “alias for a former officer in the Israeli Defense Forces who originally hailed from Eastern Europe and was working for Black Cube,” according to The New Yorker.

And Reuben Capital Partners turned out to be a front company – setting up fake firms is a well-known Mossad trick to create plausible identities for its agents.

“Filip” reappeared as “Anna,” a woman who got in touch with journalists and claimed to have allegations against Weinstein. This amounted to a perfidious effort to gain their trust by claiming falsely to be a victim.

One such spied-on journalist told The New Yorker that when “Anna” recounted her supposed experiences with Weinstein, “it seemed like soap-opera acting.”

Link to former Israeli prime minister

Israeli media reported Tuesday that former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak provided Weinstein with the lead to Black Cube.

Citing Israel’s Channel 2, the Haaretz newspaper reported that “Barak unwittingly played a role in leading Weinstein to Black Cube” and that “Weinstein even invited Barak and the head of Black Cube to a Hillary Clinton fundraiser.”

According to Haaretz, Barak told media that “over a year ago, he was asked by Weinstein if he knows about an Israeli security firm that Weinstein had heard about and can help him deal with business issues he’s currently facing.” Barak provided Weinstein with contact information for the firm.

Dirty tactics

Although Weinstein did not use only Israeli agents or companies in his scheme, the Mossad connection is notable.

Weinstein has a record of supporting and fundraising for pro-Israeli organizations. He told one such fundraising event last year that he is “Israeli in my heart and mind.”

His use of former Mossad agents is yet another example of Israel’s supposed prowess – developed through decades of military occupation and violations of Palestinian rights – being marketed and deployed for nefarious purposes across the world.

Earlier this year, it emerged that Israeli malware sold to Mexico has been used in attempts to spy on journalists and human rights activists there.

Israel and its surrogates are also evidently using clandestine methods to spy on human rights defenders in an effort to prevent justice for the Palestinian people.

Sexual violence

It is also notable that sexual violence has been a routine part of the methods Israeli intelligence agencies have used against Palestinians.

In one of the more high-profile cases, Rasmea Odeh described in the course of her trial on US immigration fraud charges the rape and sexual torture to which Israeli agents subjected her after her arrest in 1969.

Human rights groups have also documented Israeli interrogators routinely using threats of sexual violence and rape against Palestinian children in detention.

There is also a long list of of senior Israeli officials, including members of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s inner circle, who have been investigated and, in some cases, convicted for sex crimes against women and girls, amid a series of sex crime scandals involving the highest echelons of Israeli society.

But as David Sheen has written, Israeli politicians have attempted to deflect from this by making racially based false allegations of an epidemic of sex crimes committed by Palestinians and other non-Jews.

Israel’s global influence is invariably marketed in positive terms, as bringing “innovation,” “green” technologies, arts and culture.

But The New Yorker’s revelations about Weinstein’s employment of Mossad agents to target victims of sexual assault will likely awaken many to what Palestinians already know: where the dirtiest work is being done, Israel’s hand is often not far away.

ISIS; YOUR GIG IS UP! WE KNOW WHO YOU ARE

The West was responsible for the establishment of ISIS.

The United States Created ISIS and continues to Assist in Funding ISIS for Secondary Gain of Maintaining Chaos in The Middle East to Protect Oil Businesses.

Nasrallah: The United States created ISIS

Hezbollah leader welcomes the liberation of Mosul from ISIS, accuses the United States of creating the jihadist group.

Hezbollah Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah on Tuesday welcomed the liberation of the Iraqi city of Mosul from the Islamic State (ISIS) jihadist group, but also accused the United States of creating ISIS.

“This is a victory for all Iraqis, for all the people of the region, and all those that combat terrorism, and all those who are threatened by terrorism day and night,” he said in a televised speech, according to the Lebanese Daily Star.

“Freeing Mosul is a great victory for Iraq, Syria, and for all countries in the region and the world,” Nasrallah added.

“There is no doubt that the victory that was announced by Iraq Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi in Mosul is a great victory. Some from the region viewed Daesh as a revolutionary movement of the Arabic Spring, welcomed it, and endorsed it,” the Hezbollah leader continued, using the Arabic acronym for ISIS.

“Even the countries in the Gulf [Cooperation Council] that endorsed and supported Daesh were pleased because they were eventually threatened,” he added, while praising Iraq for having “provided all its necessary support for Baghdad” in the fight against the organization.

“Iraqis did not wait for anyone, not the Arab League, nor Arab or regional leaders…not the United States, nor anyone,” he said. “They put faith in God, their men, women, and their blood.”

Nasrallah then blasted United States officials who said that it would “take 10 years to tackle Daesh.”

“If all the efforts against Daesh were honest, it would not take years to take out Daesh,” Nasrallah said. “When the United States said it needs 10 years, they had a plan…it was in the interest of American hegemony and Israel.”

He then claimed that the United States created ISIS and gave states in the region the green light to fund and support the group.

This is not the first time that Nasrallah has claimed that the United States created ISIS. Last year, the Hezbollah leader quoted then-Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump’s statement that President Barack Obama had founded ISIS – and agreed with him.

“The American Presidential candidate is saying this. What he says is based on documents and facts,” Nasrallah stated at the time.

In another speech, Nasrallah claimed that the West was responsible for the establishment of ISIS.

“Friends of the United States in Lebanon, friends of the United States in the region. Your friend the United States and your friend Hillary Clinton said that Saudi Arabia and other countries operating in its name are those who financed the activities of ISIS in the region, helped it, strengthened it and made it easier for it,” he said.

Hezbollah, which is backed by Iran and is a supporter of Syrian President Bashar Al-Assad, has been actively involved in the fighting in the Syrian civil war, and has suffered heavy losses there.

ISRAEL’S LATEST PATHETIC ATTEMPT TO INCREASE TOURISM

BEX Alert Extraordinaire … Truly pathetic

VIDEO THAT THE ZIONISTS DON’T WANT YOU TO SEE

It is not enough that American Jewish leaders never hear from Palestinians themselves — they do their best to ensure that American politicians don’t, either.

Consider the sequence of events that began on June 8. On that day, an advocacy group called No Way To Treat a Child hosted a panel discussion on Capitol Hill. That’s not unusual. Advocacy organizations hold panel discussions on Capitol Hill all the time; the location makes it easier for congressional staff to attend. What made this one unusual was its subject: the Palestinian experience under Israeli control.

Why Is A Pro-Israel Group So Desperate To Keep You From Watching This Video?

When it comes to Palestinians, the American Jewish establishment is in the ignorance business. The average American synagogue has never hosted a Palestinian speaker. The average “pro-Israel” activist has never read a book by a Palestinian author. The American Jewish philanthropists who fund Birthright send thousands of young American Jews to Israel each year, on a program that systematically excludes the voices of 50% of the people who live under Israeli control.

But that’s not the worst part. The worst part is that for major American Jewish organizations, ignorance is an export.

You can watch the panel online. The first speaker was Omar Shakir, the Israel-Palestine director of Human Rights Watch. In dry, rather clinical, terms, Shakir discussed some of the consequences of the fact that West Bank Palestinians are subjects, not citizens, of Israel. He noted, for instance, that in Area C, which encompasses roughly 60% of the West Bank, it is “nearly impossible for Palestinians to obtain a permit to build a home.” When Palestinians build without a permit, the Israeli government often demolishes their homes.

Following him was Brad Parker, a staff attorney at Defense for Children Palestine. Observing that, according to the most recent statistics, Israel holds hundreds of Palestinians between the ages of 12 and 17 in its jails, often for stone throwing, Parker explained that the Israeli military frequently arrests Palestinian children at night. They are often bound, blindfolded and transported to a military installation, where they wait until morning before being interrogated without a lawyer and without their parents knowing where they are. They “essentially disappear for 24, 48, 96 hours.” Then they are generally prosecuted in military courts where the conviction rate approaches 100%.

Following Parker was Yazan Meqbil, a young West Bank Palestinian attending college in the United States, who talked about growing up in a house repeatedly slated for demolition. “Every single day,” he said, “I used to wake up hoping my house will not be demolished.” Meqbil ended his remarks by saying: “Palestinians, we all have a dream, to be free, to live like normal human beings. To not be afraid whenever we leave our homes.”

FAKE NEWS IN DEFENSE OF ZIONISM

Now, almost every day inflationary targeted pro-Israel articles are published in different German media. They voluntarily hide the word “occupation” and Zionist crimes. Apparently, the more than 45 million US-Dollar spent by the Israeli ministries for the Hasbara propaganda are worth it. It is understandable that a right-wing regime like the Netanyahu regime makes use of these methods as there is nothing Zionists fear more than the truth.

Facts, instead of the diffusion of political fake news!

by Evelyn Hecht-Galinski, English translation by Milena Rampoldi

Again these days, where the Jewish Passover celebration almost coincides with the Christian Easter, the international values hypocrites use fake news to hide their mistakes and the bombs violating international law.

In this case it is useful for politicians, churches, and media to have an enemy image they can work on together. And this enemy image is “Islam” and the “Muslims” against whom prejudices and fears are created. And all the time it is “Islam” and the Muslims who are regularly connected to “terrorism”. Who wonders if in the German/European population hatred against Muslims increases?

What the Jews were in the past, today Muslims and Islam are.

Can this kind of politics where Western values politicians whitewash the state terrorism against Muslims, masked as “defence from terrorism”, last for a long time? All is authorised, because we are the “good ones” defending “our” values, while “Islam” and Muslims murder barbarically!

What a horrible “order of values” turning all upside down what makes up real values. Since a long time German politics have abandoned peaceful values. However, these values are always indicated by politics when it is about the implementation of more than questionable objectives suggesting us that only “our” way of life is the ONLY  right one.

This kind of colonization of the “Christian-Jewish community of values” has already caused so much sorrow to mankind. It does not distinguish itself from the previous crusades but it is technically more elaborated and more efficient and adapted to the contemporary epoch.

Hypocritical “Christian” German politicians, from Merkel to von der Leyen, try to justify and legalize the US aggression against Syria violating international law. Our minister of war put herself in the frontline by supporting the US propaganda which grants itself the right to bomb another country, without research and proofs concerning the alleged poison gas attack. She supports the NATO and Trump. In the Anne Will program of last Sunday, 9th of April, the minister praised the US strikes and called this brazen violation of international law a necessary “warning” against Assad. Fortunately, the former biological weapon experts and foreign politics spokesperson of the left party Die Linke van Aken was appalled because the minister applauded this aggression against international law, even if there are no proofs that Assad committed the offence. This TV program is another example of the decline of German television culture and its presenters.

What Miss Will did on that occasion, was to oppose to ANY kind of clean journalism, when she tried to discredit Michael Lüders, one of the few competent Middle East experts, by de-qualifying him as a paid “lobbyist”. However, the “steel helmet Jew” and former Bundeswehr Professor Michael Wolffsohn, a well-known lobbyist of Israel and among others a member of the advisory board of Deutsche Bank, the former US ambassador in Germany, John Kornblum, also a lobbyist for Israel and consultant of financial economists, law offices, and banks. Politics. (1) (2)

Do we deserve such politicians and presenters who lie to us in more than controversial talk shows? If German President Steinmeier attacks the brutalization of the language on the net, he should care about the brutalization of the language of politicians of all parties telling us fake news and dismissing us as conspiracy theoretics if we do not accept them as the truth!

Of course, we still have the opportunity to go to the elections. However, also this “agony of choice” is getting more and more difficult because the parties are increasingly resembling each other. And all resembles the great coalition when also SPD foreign minister Gabriel and the defence expert Arnold speak up for the US aggression against Syria, violating international law. From the left to the right, from red to green: there is not so much the party landscape can offer. Only the brave “old Green” politician Ströbele condemns the US aggression. (3) (4)

At the moment, German politics offer very few essential contents, like the woolly statement of the “SPD Shooting Star” Schulz, who even wants to be congratulated on doing it. Even SPD Federal President Steinmeier begins to flutter by asking for more German responsibility, also in the military field. While the Green Party, from Cem Özdemir to Rebecca Harms, wallow in the anti-Erdogan and anti-Putin smear campaign, Göring-Eckardt has specialised in waste separation and the elimination of the yellow bag. (5)

Under Trump, the “father of all bombs”, for the first time in Afghanistan the “mother of all bombs” was dropped. Perhaps, the Netanyahu regime has already ordered this “mother” at the US Pentagon to quickly implement the final solution of the ethnic cleansing of Palestine, and its Judaization. The Minister of Education and the “Settlements King” Naftali Bennett has already threatened to commit genocide in Lebanon, and this without the so loud outcry of the Western world value community staying silent about it! (6) (7)

Trump seems to have reached  the point to be supported by official politics; now  “Kosher Nostra” guided by his daughter Ivanka, the converted wife of Jarred Kushner, the Jewish son-in-law and main consultant of Trump has taken over the White House. (8)

In this situation the Netanyahu regime can relax, and praise further US aggressions against Syria or other countries of the Arabic-Islamic world. This is the only way for the Jewish regime to further exacerbate the eternal illegal occupation of Palestine and the Syrian Golan Hills; and in addition, shortly the US embassy guided by the hard-core Zionist Friedman will reside in Jerusalem as the official “eternally undivided“ capital of the “Jewish State”.

Again, this year, which will be the fiftieth year of the illegal occupation of Palestine, the Federal Government will celebrate the Independence Day, the “Birthday of the Jewish State”, together with the officials of the Central Council of Jews and the representatives of the “Jewish State”. This proofs the repeated total failure of democracy in Germany, since up to now all German governments and politicians of all parties have only supported the legalization of internationally condemned international law violations committed by the Zionist occupiers.

72 years after the liberation of Auschwitz this is really a shame.

If the chief rabbi of Tel Aviv, Lau, misuses the holocaust to distract from his own crimes, this is a crime all survivors of the Holocaust and their descendants should oppose to, instead of defending these crimes of the “Jewish State”! As long as Jewish citizens do not take their distance from the Zionist occupation crimes, they will never been considered as trustful. We need same rights for all: what we pretend from Muslims, should apply to ALL religions! (9)

While German politicians and the group media bash Putin and Erdogan, regimes like the ones of al-Sisi, the Saudi Kingdom or Netanyahu can continue committing their crimes against humanity and putting all “our” values upside down!

The hypocrisy has taken such incredible forms, in particular for BDS activists and their supporters, that we have to ask ourselves how this will go on and end.

Philo-Semite politicians set the tone. And a special emphasis should be put on the “Philo-Semite Anti-Semite” Volker Beck, who really seems to smell Jewish hatred and as tracking dog of the Green Party opposes to all kind of Israel critics. However, this is only possible because there is no real opposition. Like in the Nazi regime, fear, moral cowardice, and limitless gutlessness dominate when it is about critics against Israeli politics!

Would it not be adequate to take Mr Beck to the court on the basis of the article 5 of the Basic Law of the Federal Republic of Germany because of his unjustified attacks against the freedom of opinion?

However, in the meantime it seems to be part of the political tone to silence all honest Israel critics and to try to intimidate them by defamation.

Basic Law of the Federal Republic of Germany, Article 5

(1)   Every person shall have the right freely to express and disseminate his opinions in speech, writing and pictures, and to inform himself without hindrance from generally accessible sources. Freedom of the press and freedom of reporting by means of broadcasts and films shall be guaranteed. There shall be no censorship. (…)
Of course this right also applies to supporters of the BDS campaign and to Israel critics!
More than six thousand Palestinian prisoners are in arbitrary and unjust detention. Many of them are in administrative detention without accusation. On Easter Monday, after a call by Marwan Barghouti, the Palestinian “Nelson Mandela”, 1300 of them started a hunger strike to struggle for better detention conditions and their liberation. This Palestinian new hope would be the right candidate for the Presidential Office in a free Palestine! However, the Jewish occupiers and the “moderate” collaborators and the PA and Abbas would like to stop him because he would question and challenge their status quo. Therefore Barghouti must remain in Judaistic detention. For Barghouti unfortunately there is no lobby and no German politicians or media engaging for him as they do it for the prisoners in Turkey … and in a particularly media-effective way for the reporter of the newspaper “Die Welt” Deniz Yücel – no wonder if we read his fervent article supporting the Israel lobby opposing to the Germans‘ right to criticize Israel, and as a consequence the right for freedom of opinion! For his work, Yücel got the Theodor Wolff Prize for Press Freedom. Remember: If you are supported by a lobby, prizes are distributed like counterfeit money. However, the numerous Palestinian journalists in Israeli detention rot down, without any award! (10) (11) (12) (13) (14)

Now, almost every day inflationarily targeted pro-Israel articles are published in different German media.

The power of images is enormous in our time. While fake images of small, probably Syrian children are diffused all around the world, the murdered Palestinian children never get a place on the cover page of our brave media. Walter Herrmann, this unforgotten Kölner Klagemauer fighter for the justice in Palestine, who wanted to remember photos of the Gaza genocide of barbarically murdered children in Gaza, was brought to justice!

Do not let us permit to substitute the power of facts with the diffusion of political fake news!

Unfortunately, all is repeated, and about this matter the poem by Erich Fried Nicaragua is everywhere says it all.

(In German)

Wo liegt Nicaragua?

by Erich Fried

Wo liegt Nicaragua?

Dort wo Reagan seine bezahlten
Mörder hinschickt
oder seine Agenten.
Es liegt also in Angola,
wo er mit seinen weißen
politisch verlässlichen südafrikanischen Freunden
die Banden der Unita
bewaffnet und unterstützt.

Wo liegt Nicaragua?

Am Horn von Afrika,

wo er zahlt für seinen Stützpunkt
in Mogadischu.

Wo liegt Nicaragua?
Es liegt in Palästina,
es liegt im Staat Israel
dem er Geld gibt und Waffen
für den Kampf
gegen die Palästinenser
und den er zu seinem Sprungbrett
im Nahen Osten gemacht hat.

Wo liegt Nicaragua?
Nicaragua liegt in Europa
das aussätzig ist
von seinen Atomraketen
und das Kriegsschauplatz sein soll
im nächsten Krieg.

Wo liegt Nicaragua?
Nicaragua liegt in England,
aus dem er Flugzeuge
aus dem er Flugzeuge aufsteigen ließ
gegen Libyen?
Wo liegt Nicaragua?
Es liegt in Libyen,
in Tripolis und Benghazi
auf die seine Bomben fielen.

Wo liegt Nicaragua?

soll bedenken:

Verräter an meinem Volk
Sie nennen mich
Jüdischer Antisemit
weil ich spreche von dem
was sie tun in Israels Namen
gegen Palästinenser
gegen Araber anderer Länder
und auch gegen Juden
die totgeschwiegen werden

Später einmal
werden Juden die übrigbleiben
wenn dieser Wahnsinn vorbei ist
zu suchen beginnen
nach Spuren von Juden
die nicht mittaten
sondern warnten

So haben Deutsche gezeigt
nach dem Untergang Hitlers
auf Deutsche die tags zuvor
noch verfolgt wurden oder getötet
Die sollten nun Zeugen sein
daß Deutsche auch anders waren

Ob dann ein Wort
noch nachlebt
von meiner Warnung
Wichtiger aber:
ob dann in Palästina noch Juden leben
entronnene jener Vernichtung
die sie selbst herbeiführen halfen
durch ihr Unrecht
zu meiner Zeit?

Netanyahu’s Dangerously Twisted Words Hide the Truth

Last month, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu issued two public statements. When the United Nations Security Council passed a resolution criticizing settlements, Netanyahu attacked it for not condemning Syria. When Secretary of State John Kerry defended the Obama administration’s decision to let the resolution pass, Netanyahu attacked him for not sufficiently condemning the Palestinians.

In both responses, the Israeli leader illustrated George Orwell’s famous insight: The abuse of human beings starts with the abuse of language.

“At a time when the Security Council does nothing to stop the slaughter of half a million people in Syria,” Netanyahu declared after the UN vote, “it disgracefully gangs up on the one true democracy in the Middle East, Israel.”

The first clause is a non-sequitur. Yes, Syrians in Aleppo and elsewhere are suffering more than Palestinians in the West Bank. Yes, the UN should be doing more to relieve their plight. But the test of whether Israeli settlement policy deserves international condemnation is whether Israeli settlement policy is morally wrong, not whether other governments deserve condemnation more.

By Netanyahu’s logic, the UN shouldn’t condemn Bashar al Assad’s crimes either. After all, only 500,000 people have died in Syria’s civil war; ten times that many have died from violence in Congo. So unless the UN criticizes Congo’s leaders ten times as often, Assad can claim to be the victim of a double standard, too.

Netanyahu’s logic would also have ensnared the American Jewish organizations that in the 1970s protested the Soviet Union’s refusal to let Jews emigrate. After all, the Khmer Rouge in Cambodia and Idi Amin in Uganda were committing far worse human rights abuses at the same time. Why didn’t Jewish groups focus on those?

When it comes to Syria, there’s reason to doubt Netanyahu’s sincerity. Just days after denouncing the UN for its inaction there, he reportedly instructed Israeli diplomats to skip a vote on creating a UN commission to gather evidence of Syrian war crimes because he feared alienating Vladimir Putin. But regardless, the UN’s action or inaction on Syria doesn’t excuse Israeli settlement policy. A lesser evil is still evil.

If the first half of Netanyahu’s sentence is irrelevant, the second half is untrue.

In the West Bank, Israel is not the “one true democracy in the Middle East.” It’s not a democracy at all. It’s not a democracy because Palestinians — who comprise the vast majority of the West Bank’s inhabitants — cannot vote for the government that controls their lives: the government of Israel. (Yes, Israel subcontracts certain governing functions to the Palestinian Authority, but it still controls the entire area. Israel’s army — and the army of no other nation — can enter any square inch of the West Bank anytime it wants and arrest anybody it wants, including members of the Palestinian Authority itself). If Israel really were a democracy in the West Bank, and millions of West Bank Palestinians could vote in Israeli elections, Netanyahu wouldn’t be Israel’s prime minister.

Five days later, after Kerry gave a speech defending the Obama administration’s decision to let the UN resolution pass, Netanyahu tried a different tack. Settlements aren’t the problem, he insisted, the Palestinians are.

“This conflict is not about houses, or communities in the West Bank, Judea and Samaria, the Gaza district or anywhere else,” Netanyahu declared. “This conflict is and has always been about Israel’s very right to exist…The persistent Palestinian refusal to recognize a Jewish state remains the core of the conflict.”

But that’s a false dichotomy. Yes, the refusal of some Palestinians to recognize Israel stands at “the core of the conflict.” So do settlements, in part because they encourage the very Palestinian rejectionism that Netanyahu decries.

Palestinian politics is neither monolithic nor unchanging. In the early twentieth century, Palestinian leaders fought to prevent the establishment of a Jewish state. In the mid-twentieth century, they fought to undo it. Then, gradually, dissident Palestinian thinkers began arguing for a change of strategy. Although they deeply regretted Israel’s creation, they accepted that it was now irreversible. Palestinians, they argued, should recognize Israel in hopes of winning their own state alongside it in the West Bank and Gaza Strip. This shift in Palestinian strategy culminated in the PLO’s declaration, at the start of the Oslo Accords in 1993, that it “recognizes the right of the State of Israel to exist in peace and security.” (The Palestinian National Council ratified that declaration by amending the PLO’s charter in 1998.)

Hamas, and even some in the PLO itself, disagreed. And when it comes to recognizing Israel, Palestinians have been divided ever since. Observers can debate where the balance of Palestinian opinion lies. But the key point is this: settlements undermine the Palestinians most willing to accept Israel’s right to exist.

The entire strategy behind recognizing Israel, after all, was that doing so would help win Palestinians their own state. The more Palestinians see settlements eating away at that future state, the more they conclude that recognizing Israel was a mistake.

Listen to Salam Fayyad, a Palestinian leader that even Ron Dermer, Netanyahu’s ambassador to the United States, has praised for his commitment to peace. Before stepping down as the Palestinian Authority’s prime minister in 2013, Fayyad told The New York Times’ Roger Cohen that, “The occupation regime is more entrenched, with no sign it is beginning to relinquish its grip on our life. There are more settlements, more settler violence, more intrusiveness into all aspects of Palestinian life.” As a result, Fayyad declared, “I represent the address for failure. Our people question whether the P.A. can deliver. Meanwhile, Hamas gains recognition and is strengthened.”

As evidence that settlements don’t matter, Netanyahu and his allies often point to Yasser Arafat’s refusal to accept Ehud Barak’s two state offer in 2000 and Mahmoud Abbas’ refusal to accept Ehud Olmert’s in 2008. But the actual history of those negotiations proves exactly the opposite.

At the Camp David talks in the summer of 2000, Barak proposed annexing nine percent of the West Bank. For their part, the Palestinians proposed that Israel annex only 2.5 percent. Why the discrepancy? Because Barak wanted to incorporate 80 percent of Jewish settlers into Israel while the Palestinians felt that such a large annexation would imperil their state’s territorial contiguity.

Eight years later, the two sides disagreed again. Olmert proposed that Israel annex 6.5 percent of the West Bank; the Palestinians said they could accept an annexation of no more than 1.9 percent. As Bernard Avishai has reported, one of the biggest sticking points was Ariel, Israel’s fourth largest settlement, which the Palestinians insisted Israel dismantle because it juts deep into the northern West Bank.

Obviously, Israeli and Palestinian negotiators clashed over other issues too: Jerusalem, refugees, the Jordan Valley. But in both negotiations, the settlements clearly made reaching a deal harder. Believing that dismantling large settlements like Ariel was politically impossible, Barak and Olmert insisted on annexing sizable chunks of the West Bank. Believing those annexations would make their state non-viable, the Palestinians refused.

Today, because the settler population is larger, those gaps would be even wider. It’s academic because unlike Barak or Olmert, Netanyahu has never offered a map of the kind of Palestinian state he could accept. What he offers instead is rhetoric: cutesy Americanisms like “Friends don’t take friends to the Security Council.”

But there are realities that public relations-lingo can’t obscure. By creating one law for Jewish settlers, who enjoy Israeli citizenship, free movement, due process and the right to vote for the government that controls their lives, and another for Palestinians, who live as non-citizens under military law, Israel in the West Bank has become a “brutal occupation force” that is “making the lives of millions unbearable.” Those words come from Avraham Shalom and Carmi Gillon, two former heads of the Shin Bet.

Their English isn’t as polished as Netanyahu’s. But as Orwell taught long ago, you don’t need fancy language when you’re speaking the truth.

CLINTONS BLAME ‘ANGRY WHITE MEN’ FOR THEIR LOSS

Bill Clinton: ‘Angry white men’ caused Hillary loss

Former President and one-time would-be “First Man” Bill Clinton placed the blame for his wife Hillary’s loss in the recent US presidential election squarely on FBI Director James Comey – and “angry, white men.”

According to Politico, Bill Clinton, responding at a spontaneous question-and-answer session at a New York bookstore to the question of whether President-elect Trump was smart, replied that “he doesn’t know much.”

However, “one thing he does know is how to get angry, white men to vote for him.” Analysis of election results has shown that blue-collar and middle class white men voted for Trump in large numbers, but also 40% of eligible women voters.

In addition, Clinton blamed Hillary’s loss on FBI Director James Comey, who had reopened an investigation into Hillary’s secret email server 11 days before the elections.

“James Comey cost her the election,” he said bluntly.

Clinton also accused the Russians of interfering in the election by hacking into the Clinton campaign’s emails.

“You would need to have a single-digit IQ not to recognize what was going on,” he claimed.

On Monday, the electoral college officially confirmed Donald Trump’s presidential victory.

Israeli leadership’s sex crime problem

David Sheen

The Israeli army officially inaugurated its new chief rabbi at the beginning of this month – but not before he issued a sworn statement apologizing for past religious rulings that have been roundly criticized as sexist.

Eyal Krim, who has served as the army’s second-highest-ranking religious official for the last four years, was elevated to the rank of brigadier general after Israel’s high court ruled that the appointment could be allowed.

Krim was to have taken up his post a week previous, but his inauguration was delayed by the court. The order to delay was made after parliamentarians from Meretz, a left-leaning Zionist party, petitioned the high court against his appointment. The petition focused on how Krim had sanctioned the rape of non-Jewish women by Jewish soldiers in 2002.

“Every rabbi, educator or public figure is required to have the ability to retract and to admit a mistake. I do not hesitate to say I erred,” Krim wrote in his affidavit.

Krim made the controversial religious rulings when he was a civilian, publishing them on Kipa.co.il, a Hebrew-language web forum popular with Orthodox Jews.

Yair Ettinger, religion reporter for Tel Aviv newspaper Haaretz, wrote recently that although he was not in active service at the time, “Krim became in civilian clothes the leading address to turn to for religious soldiers, especially ones in combat units, with questions and dilemmas regarding halakha, or Jewish religious law. His popularity among religious soldiers overshadowed that of the rabbis of the military rabbinate and annoyed them very much.”

“Evil urge”

Krim’s most misogynistic ruling was in response to the following question by an anonymous man: “Is it allowed nowadays for an IDF [Israeli army] soldier, for example, to rape girls during battle, or is such a thing forbidden?”

In response, Krim ruled: “Even though fraternizing with a gentile woman is a very serious matter, it was permitted during wartime … the Torah permitted the individual to satisfy the evil urge.”

In the days that followed the November court decision to delay Krim’s appointment, many of Israel’s political and religious leaders issued statements of support for Krim, urging him not to retract his earlier religious rulings. Hundreds of rabbis on the government payroll publicly expressed their support for Krim, including more than 150 military rabbis and Israel’s national chief rabbi Yitzhak Yosef.

Even Tzohar, a group of ostensibly liberal Orthodox rabbis, spoke out in Krim’s defense, as did several ministers, including justice minister Ayelet Shaked and religious services minister David Azoulay.

Last month, Haaretz reported that sexual harassment complaints in the military nearly doubled between 2010 and 2015.

Ironically, the army official to sound the alarm over the steady increase in sex crime complaints, its head of human resources, Major General Hagai Topolanski, is also the very official to have approved Krim for the position of chief rabbi, despite his previously reported comments about raping non-Jewish women.

In recent days, it has emerged that a retired Israeli army brigadier general charged with 16 sex crimes, including three counts of rape, would likely receive a suspended sentence and avoid any prison time. The officer, Ofek Buchris, is expected to draw his entire pension, since he resigned from the army immediately after the rape indictments and before his guilt was established.

Light sentencing

Israel’s aversion to aggressively prosecuting soldiers for rape also extends to crimes committed before they are inducted into the army.

In August, the news website Walla reported that a 24-year-old man who had just been charged with rape, had also been charged with attempted rape four years earlier.

In that 2012 incident, however, the presiding judge chose not to jail him for the crime, instead putting him on probation and only fining him the equivalent of $1,300, so that his police record would not be tarred by a felony conviction, as this could have torpedoed his then-impending army enlistment.

Many more disturbing cases of sex crimes, and institutional efforts to downplay them, have come to the fore in Israel over the past few months.

On 4 December, a retired Israeli judge confessed to sexually harassing a female employee. Yitzhak Cohen, who served as the president of a Nazareth district court, is likely to duck a criminal conviction, and receive only a light sentence of community service and a $650 fine.

In September, Nissim Mor was convicted on charges of sexual harassment, committed while he was Israel’s deputy police chief. Although the former top cop has confessed to the crimes, his punishment may amount to only a few months of community service, and the presiding judge may yet decide to annul the guilty conviction altogether, according to Haaretz.

Mor’s abuse of his police powers to commit sex attacks on a woman who had come to him asking for aid would seem to be symptomatic of a wider phenomenon. In August, Walla reported on a perceptible pattern of women approaching the Israeli police to complain about crimes, including sexual harassment, and being in turn sexually harassed by those very policemen.

Since he was sworn in as Israel’s police chief a year ago, Roni Alsheikh has done little to assuage concerns that the force does not take sex crimes seriously. A report released last month revealed that 87 percent of alleged sex crimes are not prosecuted by the police.

At an event marking International Women’s Day in March, Alsheikh announced that the police would no longer investigate anonymous allegations of sex crimes.

The announcement was made even though Israeli law compels all employers to investigate any suspicion of sex crimes, even if the allegations are made anonymously. Alsheikh had previously said that he regarded allegations made anonymously to be as bad as sexual harassment itself.

In August, Haaretz reported that Alsheikh and his direct boss, public security minister Gilad Erdan, had ordered police spokespersons to refrain from speaking to the media about rape and other sex crimes in order to improve the public image of the force. Instead, they were instructed to focus media attention on crimes allegedly committed by Palestinians – both those who have, and those who do not have, Israeli citizenship.

The following month, Haaretz reported that Alsheikh formed a committee to consider setting up a legal aid fundfor police officers accused of sex crimes and other infractions.

Plague

Outside of the army, rape culture continues to plague Israeli society.

Last month, it emerged that Israel’s biggest bank, Bank Hapoalim, paid $1.6 million to an employee who accused the bank’s CEO, Zion Kenan, of sexually assaulting her. Hapoalim is currently under investigation by the Bank of Israel for not reporting the incident.

Also last month, Ben-Gurion University of the Negev decided not to suspend or levy any fine against David Newman, dean of the faculty of humanities and social sciences, for sexually harassing a female student in his department. The university tried to prevent news of the decision from reaching the public.

In the past few days, a court convicted David Yosef of 11 sex crimes, including indecent acts, sexual harassment and sexual assault, all committed while he served as mayor of the Tel Aviv suburb of Or Yehuda. During Israel’s large-scale attack on Gaza in the summer of 2014, the Or Yehuda municipality hung a large banner in public urging Israeli soldiers to strike Palestinians forcefully, using a Hebrew-language double entendre that alluded to raping Palestinian mothers. Yosef was mayor at the time.

A popular religious leader accused of raping and sexually assaulting women and minors was convicted of lesser crimes recently. Eliezer Berland, the rabbi in question, was sentenced to just a year and a half in jail and a $6,500 fine. When Berland was first arraigned in July, after evading arrest for three years, a thousand of his followers protested outside the Israeli court, holding signs bearing the slogan: “The people are with the saint.”

Of late, there has been a string of sex crime allegations against lawmakers from Israel’s national religious camp and its political party, the far-right Habayit Hayehudi (Jewish Home).

In September, it emerged that Davidi Perl, the regional council chair of a cluster of Israeli settlements in the occupied West Bank, agreed to pay a large sum of money (reportedly more than $50,000) to a young woman who accused him of sexual assault. The council voted to retain Perl as its chair. Perl resigned two week later for, in his words, the “good of my family.”

An unnamed elected representative with Habayit Hayehudi has been accused by a party member of numerous sex attacks.

Meanwhile, Yinon Magal, a former Habayit Hayehudi lawmaker who resigned from Israel’s parliament a year ago after numerous women accused him of sex crimes, was hired by Israel Channel 10 last month to co-host a popular late-night television show.

Natasha Roth, a blogger with +972 Magazine, observed that Magal’s fate contrasted with that of Billy Bush.

Bush, a cousin of George W. Bush, the former US president, was ousted in October from his job as host of the NBC television show Today after a video of him entertaining Donald Trump’s boasts about sexually assaulting women was made public during the US presidential election campaign.

While Trump’s misogynistic comments were widely condemned, Tzvika Brot, his election campaign manager in Israel, tried to whitewash his violent sexism. Brot noted – somewhat ironically in light of the controversy surrounding Krim’s appointment – that Trump “isn’t running for chief rabbi.”

Prime minister’s office

Israel’s highest political office also appears to be no safe space for women.

In April, David Keyes, spokesperson to Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, was accused of sexually assaulting a woman in 2013.

In a separate case, last month, after a woman working in the prime minister’s office complained to her direct boss that another office employee had sexually harassed her, the boss fired her on the spot.

Netanyahu’s close friend and former chief of staff, diplomat Gil Sheffer, was this month placed under house arrest after a woman accused him of confining and sexually assaulting her. Sheffer has faced similar accusations from other women in the recent past.

Another previous chief of staff to Netanyahu, Natan Eshel, also quit his post after a colleague accused him of sex crimes.

In September, Netanyahu’s former chauffeur, Ilan Shmuel, was convicted of raping six girls between the ages of nine and 16 over the course of a decade.

When the head of Israel’s government fails to adequately protect women from sex criminals even in his own inner circle, it is sad but not surprising when Israeli children, even pre-pubescent ones, fall victim to sexual predators, such as in the Shmuel case.

That liberal Zionist lawmakers successfully forced the army’s chief rabbi to express contrition for his past sanctioning of rape can be counted as a narrow victory for feminist activists. But Krim’s elevation to such a powerful post to begin with, and the strong support he continues to receive from Israeli leaders, are testaments to the power of patriarchy in Israeli society.

Israel’s Right Wing-Paper Features Ad With Gay Dads

Israel Hayom, Israel’s right-wing newspaper affiliated with the ruling Likud party, surprised some by printing a full-page ad for a Nissan Sentra with two gay fathers this week.

The ad depicted a family of four with two young fathers and their school-age son and daughter with the phrase “Put your family in the Sentra.”

Avi Mayer, spokesman for the Jewish Agency for Israel and a prolific tweeter, called the ad “awesomewashing.” He was playing on the term “pinkwashing,” an accusation often levied against Israel that the government uses its record on gay rights to hide its crimes against Palestinians.

Another Twitter user, @ledoorpink, replied, “The issue is not two dads, that’s natural, but a $34,000 for a Nissan Sentara, that’s very unnatural.”

Israel Hayom is funded by Sheldon Adelson, the billionaire Las Vegas casino magnate who donates to many pro-Israel causes, and is widely seen as a mouthpiece for the Likud Party.

Individual politicians in Likud have supported LGBT rights, but the party was lambasted earlier this year when the government coalition torpedoed a series of pro-LGBT bills.

Netanyahu urges Arabs to ‘take part in our society’

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu apologizes for controversial election statements about Arab voters – then ‘goes one step further.’

And the reactions to the above …

“When I saw you chose to contact us in English,” he continued, turning directly to Netanyahu, “I understood exactly where this message is intended and for what purpose. So I say to the Prime Minister on behalf of the Arab public that we are not buying his show of hypocrisy.”

Arab MKs blast Netanyahu video to Israeli Arabs

Arab Knesset members unimpressed with Prime Minister’s appeal to Israeli Arabs to take full part in Israeli society, call it a “spin”.

Arab Knesset members on Monday night blasted Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu after he released a video urging Israeli Arabs to take full part in Israeli society.

Joint List chairman MK Ayman Odeh responded to the video and said, “I watched the video tonight and I asked myself whether this is the same person who tried desperately to prevent the economic plan for Arabs, who tried to add more conditions to the program so that it would not be implemented? Is this the same Prime Minister who incited against us in the elections and since then has only worsened his inciting statements?”

“When I saw you chose to contact us in English,” he continued, turning directly to Netanyahu, “I understood exactly where this message is intended and for what purpose. So I say to the Prime Minister on behalf of the Arab public that we are not buying his show of hypocrisy.”

MK Ahmed Tibi blasted the video as well, saying, “Mr. Netanyahu’s passionate appeal to the residents of Rahat and Taybeh in English brings upon a smile and raises questions about the background of this spin. If you saw some shaking in the video it’s because the video guy couldn’t stop laughing. Netanyahu did not even apologize for his past racist remarks, and only ‘apologizes if his words were misunderstood.’ Again the Arabs (and Jews) did not understand his thoughts.”

“I wonder whether the motive is criticism by the OECD or another international body. He and his government are personally responsible for the huge disparities between Arab and Jewish communities and he is the one who boasts about destruction of homes rather than real integration. This spin will not hold water either,” said Tibi.
